Terrapins get shelled at home

Article By: Drewwbacca

Matt90210 and UNW swooped into Maryland, with a dialed up a game plan that Drewwbacca could not decipher, on either side of the ball. Matt continued his run of insane INT numbers and posted 4, to go along with a career day for Joseph Himon II, who went for 221 yards on 14 carries and 2 TD's, and the 'Cats put an absolute BUFU'ing on the Terps, 56-23. On a day where Drewwbacca aspired to picking up his first ranked W, in the NDL, it simply wasn't ever going to happen.

The lone blemishes on 90210's day were 2 first half INT's, which made the game exciting for a while, but mid way through the second, 90210 started to display his prowess, and created some separation, and then....... didn't look back.

Drewwbacca was quoted as saying "he's got one of the better defensive playcalling schemes I've ever faced." Tai Felton had a standout day going for 154 yds on 7 carries and found pay dirt, twice! Roman Hemby averaged a respectable 5.3 yds per carry, for 85 yds, but Maryland simply couldn't establish a sufficient run game to force NW to be honest in the passing game.

Drewwbacca called this a "learning moment" for Maryland, and he assured us that he'd be going back and watching the tape, tonight. While the loss is still fresh in his mind and the fire in the belly burns, to decipher Matt90210 for our future encounters.

Wildcats offense roars vs Terps

Article By: matt90210

Northwestern will be hard-pressed to have a better offensive performance than they had today on the road against Maryland. Jack Lausch completed 12 of 18 passes for 238 yards and 4 touchdowns. Cam Porter carried the ball 14 times for 221 yards and 2 TDs. AJ Hennig caught 5 balls for 120 yards and a TD. The offense was just absolutely clicking in the 56-23 win.

It was not all positive though as the secondary struggled to stop the pass. Maryland QB Billy Edwards Jr completed 20 passes for 309 yards and 3 TDs. The defense did force 4 INTs which helped counter some of the yardage.

Still, coach Matt knows the team has to be better on defense. "No offense to Maryland but their skill players are not like some of the ones we'll face on our schedule," Matt said. "Hats off to their players for making plays but we've got to find a way to defend the pass better."
