RB Duel in Durham
Article By: A wild back and forth game saw North Carolina start well, but it was Duke that finished to take the rivalry victory 49-35. Duke's Maalik Murphy passed for 467 yards and 7 touchdowns with most of the damage done by running back Jaquez Moore who had 180 yards through the air and chipped in 80 yards on the ground. Duke had three receivers over 100 yards for the day. For Carolina, it was Omarion Hampton who carried the load with 170 yards on the ground and 117 yards through the air with a total of four touchdowns. The turnover bug that had bitten Carolina the past few weeks went away, but a lack of pressure on the quarterback gave Duke's Murphy the time he needed to find open receivers all over the field. The Carolina Coach said after the game, "We made some great strides on offense today, but we took a step back on defense. We just haven't been able to get it going in all three phases since the season opener, and we're running out of games to put things together."
