Memphis wins conference opener

Memphis regrouped after a tough loss to Clemson by beating Navy 35-3. The game changed late in the 2nd quarter when Tyrin Taylor returned a pair of interceptions back for TD'S giving Memphis a 21-3 lead. Seth Hennigan would connect with WR Koby Drake on the 1st play of the 3rd quarter for a 62 yard TD pass that basically put the game away. Memphis now must focus their attention to the nationally ranked SMU Mustangs as they are set to roll into the Bluff City sometime this week

Navy hits rock bottom against Memphis

The Naval Academy hit the lowest of the low in the young season as they fell to Memphis 35-3 catalyst by 2 pick-6's in consecutive plays, blowing a tight first half wide open. An additional INT and 3 fumbles drove the game home as Memphis controlled the ball and finished the Navy opening season Home Stand 0-3, heading to UAB next week in a now considered must win for a program looking to rebound from a brutal start to the year.
