Columbia, Missouri - The Missouri Tigers managed to eke out their first conference win of the season today, defeating the Commodores of Vanderbilt 35-28. On the offensive side of the ball Brady Cook continued to struggle in the passing game, tossing 3 interceptions, 2 of which the Commodores returned for touchdowns. Thankfully for Cook his two pronged rushing attack of Marcus Carroll and Nate Noel managed to rack up 203 on the grounds and keep the Tigers in the game. The defense also shinned limiting Vanderbilt to just 195 of total offense and 4 turnovers. "We have a lot of work to do," said coach McDonagh at the post game press conference. "If we don't right the ship soon in the passing department it's going to be a long season." Up next for the Tigers are the Owls of Kennesaw State.

In Week 4 of the season, the Vanderbilt Commodores faced off against the Missouri Tigers, a top-10 ranked team. Despite a strong effort, Vanderbilt fell short, losing by a score of 31-24. The narrow margin of defeat was largely due to a series of costly mistakes, particularly the four turnovers that plagued the Commodores throughout the game.

Vanderbilt’s offense struggled to find its rhythm against Missouri's formidable defense. Missed opportunities and a lack of consistent production kept them from capitalizing on key moments. The turnovers—two interceptions and two fumbles—proved to be particularly damaging, each one halting potential scoring drives and giving Missouri the upper hand.

Defensively, Vanderbilt put up a valiant fight, keeping the game close despite their offensive struggles. However, the lack of support from the offense eventually took its toll, allowing Missouri to maintain their lead.

For Vanderbilt, this loss serves as a tough lesson in the importance of protecting the football and executing on offense. While they showed they could compete with one of the nation’s top teams, the missed opportunities left them wondering what could have been.
