Florida hosted Texas A&M for in week 2 for their annual "Black Out The Swamp" game. Florida wears all black uniforms with the same name on the back of every jersey, that word is "Commitment". Florida wears these jerseys to honor military service members.
The game was filled with excitement for the home fans from the opening kickoff as WR Tank Hawkins received the opening kick, found a crease and broke a tackle to return the kick 101 yards for a TD to help the Gators jump out to an early 7-0 lead. Coach FTB had this to say about the opening kickoff "For meaningful themed games like this the atmosphere is always insanely electric at kickoff, it gives the guys a little extra juice. Tank is a speedster and full of confidence as a freshman. Every time he touches the ball, you're on the edge of your seat because he can break for the endzone at any moment."
Freshman RB KD Daniels gained 130 yards and 1 TD on just 10 carries as the Gator running game continues to be successful. Coach FTB had to say this about Daniels performance "KD is a phenomenal player for us as a freshman. He always steps up and makes the big plays when we need him to. I think he broke a big TD run out of the Power-I, besides that kudos to the Texas A&;M coaching staff. They were extremely well prepared to stop our run-game and they were able to contain us today."
The Gator defense struggled defending the Texas A&M rushing attack early in the game, they surrendered a 75 yard TD run. After a few changes in strategy by Coach FTB, the Gators were able to bounce back on defense. MLB Shemar James and CB Jason Marshall Jr. combined for 5 INTs on defense. Marshall Jr. who had 3 of those INTs returned two for touchdowns. When asked about the sudden change on defense Marshall Jr. had this to say. "We needed to adapt and we did. Coach has preached since day one of the season that if you get punched in the mouth, you get back up. The front seven made some adjustments after letting up the big TD and us DBs benefitted from that. Plus, shoutout to the fans, that atmosphere was amazing all game. It really drove us to be great."

The Gators are now 2-0 on the regular season, They will travel to Mississippi State to face off against the 2-0 Bulldogs in Week 4.
