Article By: Mattdaddy

In a decisive rebound performance, Wake Forest shut out the University of Virginia 21-0 on Saturday, showcasing a dominant defensive effort and a robust ground game.

After a tough Week 1 loss to Eastern Michigan, the Demon Deacons demonstrated resilience and skill in their second game of the season. The standout performer was Nick Anderson, who delivered a game-changing performance with three interceptions. Anderson’s defensive prowess was highlighted by his two interception returns for touchdowns, sealing the game and earning him Player of the Game honors.

Wake Forests defense stifled Virginias offense throughout the match, while the teams running game contributed significantly with a total of 188 rushing yards. The balanced offensive attack and formidable defense underscored Wake Forests capacity for recovery and adaptation after a challenging start to the season.

This win marks a significant turnaround for Wake Forest, positioning them well as they look to build momentum in the coming weeks.

Despite the two picks
for touchdown, the UVA coaching staff stuck with their quarterback, thinking he would lead him out of the hole…
The Cavaliers were able to get down to the demon, Deacon one and tried to punch one in to narrow the gap, but the Wake Forest defense stood tall, and stopped the UVA Drive…

Wake then turned to their solid ground game, and gobbled up yards and time, with big number 30 breaking and TD run to seal the deal and the win for the Deacons.

Will it be changes at QB for UVA?
Stay tuned… this season’s still young.
