Weird, I have been an always near perfect FG kicker, then all the sudden with teh game on the line......a magical gust of win "lag" comes up.

LE GASP! CONSPIRACY!
Stanford loses momentum due to power failure.

Survives 4 turnovers due to inaccurate kicking.

We interrupt this recap for a public service announcement

It takes a certain level of talent to hit the goalposts on not one, but two different kicks. Utah had the ability to put the game away in regulation after going for it on 4th from the Cardinal 35 and failing. Struggling QB Ben Hogan had a dismal day overall and gave the ball right back to the Utes with 30 seconds to play. Thankfully, the Utah kicker didn't have quite enough leg to get the kick over the crossbar, sending the game in to overtime.

Hogan again pissed away the Cardinal's chances, but Utah Kicker Jamie Sutcliffe pinged a 33 yarder off the goal post for the second time in the game, allowing Stanford to over come an iced kick to steal a win. Sutcliffe also missed an easy chip shot that amounted to a glorified extra point, also off the goalpost earlier in the game which would have rendered this entire clusterbomb irrelevant. Instead, 3 runs and FG later, Stanford escapes a game that should've ended an hour earlier.
