The Trojans stayed close but couldn't pull through
USC falls to Alabama

3 turnovers hurt Trojans

USC came into Alabama hoping they could put together a great game plan and great play that would help lead to an upset of Coach Dawgit. The game started off well for them as they would take the opening drive 11 plays for a touchdown by Silas Redd on a 2 yard rush for the early 7-0 lead. The Crimson Tide would answer back with a 9 play drive that saw the 1st quarter come to an end. Alabama would score on the first play of the 2nd quarter on a 13 yard pass play to tie the game at 7-7. The Trojans would go 3 and out on their next possession giving the ball right back to Alabama. This time the Crimson Tide would only need one play as they would connect on a 72 yard touchdown pass to go up 14-7. USC would be driving into Alabama territory but a pick would end any hopes of scoring. Alabama looked to be on their way to blowing the game wide open but an interception by AJ McCarron gave USC a chance. The Trojans would get the ball to the 42 yard line but would have a 4th down. Alabama would not call a timeout so USC let the clock go down to :02 to throw a hail mary. Max Wittek would heave the ball 58 yards into the endzone and Victor Blackwell would come down with it to tie the game at the half 14-14. "That was a huge momentum swing for us," said Coach Dealer, "getting that touchdown brought a lot of life to our team going into the 2nd half."

That life would be short lived as the 3rd quarter would belong to Alabama. They would open the 2nd half with a 13 play drive that would end with a 39 yard field goal to go ahead 17-14. USC would stall on offense and the Crimson Tide would take advantage as they would score on a 2 yard touchdown run to go up 24-14. Both teams would trade interceptions but USC would capitalize as the return would take them down to the 7 yard line. They would then score 3 plays later on a 1 yard rush by DJ Morgan to bring the score to 24-21. USC's defense would look to make a big play, but they would get burnt by Cooper on a 47 yard touchdown pass to clinch the win 31-21. "We played a good game," said Dealer, "unfortunately we had 3 picks on offense and you can't do that and come away with a win when you are playing Coach Daw and Alabama. We will learn and hopefully take this into conference play."

great game Daw and good luck this season
