Crazy regional for Uconn... we’ve had 3 games with like 17+ hits and 2 games our pitchers struck out 16 or more

Tonight our all American closer Jacob Wallace came in in the 7th w a guy on second and proceeded to strike out 7 in a row to end the game. He’s absolutely filthy. Was cape cod league prospect of year last summer. Has like 63k’s in 40 ip this year and like a .64 era and sub 1 whip

Canes have some bats this year but this storm is a bummer on the regional. Will be next week is my guess. Tough teams in it too.

need to win 1 more to advance to super regional with the winner of the Stanford regional. Stanford also lost last night and is in their losers bracket.

Canes lose two 1 run games with major choke jobs and they are finito.

Another disappointing run to the end of the season going 13-14 in their last 27 and losing 2 home games in a regional.

Ya that was a major let down for UM

UConn played Maryland last night and Maryland’s pitching was completely gone. They started a 24 year old transfer from URI who is only there because his brother played their years ago. He hasn’t pitched more than mop up duty in like 4 years. He proceeded to shut us down for 5 innings of shut out ball. Then they brought in 2 other relievers and we tied it up immediately. Then they brought in their Friday starter on 1 day rest and he shut us down for 2.1 and they ultimately took the lead back in bottom 11

We play Maryland again tonight at 7 pm on espnU

UConn still has relatively full pitching options. Our 4 is just as good as our 3 and then 2 of our better relievers haven’t thrown yet, our closer had yday off and is available and our all American Friday starter if emergency need (hopefully they don’t cause it’s criminal they use those kids on 1-2 day rest like this)

Maryland is probably going to use their Saturday starter who we beat for as long as he can go on one day rest I would assume.

my wife went to USM so i have a ton of contacts in Hattiesburg... its one of the biggest weekends ever there since LSU was the 2.

to make it even better, if Ole Miss wins the coral gables regional and USM wins then Ole Miss would come there next weekend which would probably be equally as crazy with even more on the line.
