Nothing is a negative as you stated. Also, nothing shows he's a 1st ballot lock without a doubt.

When I say what is wrong with you guys it is not for Blackwell, it is how some guys vote in general. I mean Munoz was 2 votes from not getting in, wtf is that?

As far as crafty... His career era is over 4, his era+ is 107 which means he is basically average. He sprinkled in 2-3 awesome seasons but for a majority of his career he was average or below average. WAR for SPs in this game is broken so I do not go off that number at all. If McGee was on one team his entire career and that team was a consistent playoff team then he would have been that teams #3 or #4 starter. His best years were in his short stint in Sheltown so maybe you only remember the good years

I don't mind them at this time as you've had them in the system for a season and a closer look. Its when they happen the July/August report that makes no sense. I mean Mookie Betts was a 5th rounder, Arenado a 2nd rounder, Anthony Rizzo a 6th rounder.

ERA/ERA+ is a tough stat for pitchers, though. Put a good defense behind them, and they'll look way better. Put a crap defense behind them, and their ERA will be utter garbage. I've seen pitchers get a whole earned run worse or better just by changing teams.

I can attest to this...2058 I had one of the WORST defenses in the league and team ERA was 5.39. Last year I had one of the better Ds in the league (due to a complete overhaul) and ended with a 3.25 ERA.

Specifically, Pepe Castellonos...5.51 ERA in '58 and 2.75 ERA in '59.

the league has been around 60 seasons and you're in the top 27 all time in WAR....not sure that's a "case against him"
