SlideIt does all the same things. I tried the free versions of both and just liked SlideIt better.shel311 wrote:Bumpshel311 wrote:So it's not swype?trendon wrote:By the way, it is called SwiftKey X, not swypekey; my bad.shel311 wrote: Why is that swype app you always talk about worth buying, compared to the swype already on the phone?
A touchscreen keyboard learns the words you use most and how you (mis)type them, and then predicts what you meant to write with frightening accuracy. Let the utility analyze your Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, and texts to take stock of your vocabulary. The keyboard’s large keys register with a quick, satisfying vibration.

But it does all of that based on your keying in each letter like a normal text, or swyping?

Yeah, you can swipe with it. I've become a swiping master in a very short time. My big old fingers can't handle picking out the individual buttons on the screen. I'm no Nole, but I'm not too far behind.shel311 wrote:But it does all of that based on your keying in each letter like a normal text, or swyping?

Nice. Since the one you use is free for now, i'll definitely give it a whirl.
I guess I could see if there's a free trial for Trendon's as well.

Re: Droid apps
I used the free one but it's only good for 15 days. I went ahead and bought the full version. To be honest, I haven't seen any difference in the two except for not having to worry about an evaluation period running out.shel311 wrote:Nice. Re: Droid apps
I got that swiftkey x as an Amazon free app on my third day having the game, but I tried the swype stuff and just didn't feel comfortable w it. My big thumbs keep hitting the . key instead of space though, so I might give it another whirl.

That's the main reason why I swype now.jsence2 wrote:I got that swiftkey x as an Amazon free app on my third day having the game, but I tried the swype stuff and just didn't feel comfortable w it. My big thumbs keep hitting the . key instead of space though, so I might give it another whirl.
The space button on the Droid is pretty small compared to the Iphone.
I always miss the space bar and instead add a comma or period and my texts look turrible lol.

Added two great ones recently
AirDroid - Ever wanted to access your phone from your computer but didn’t have a cable handy? AirDroid creates a mini webpage that lets you access your phone over your WiFi network from your browser — it even lets you send text messages without having to touch your phone.
JuiceDefender - Battery life saver that most of you probably already have but I did not.
May have been mentioned earlier ...
Google Goggles - Annoy your friends by solving Sudoku puzzles in seconds by taking a picture of it among other ID tasks.

I spent the money on juice defender but never figured out how to use it.
Re: Droid apps
JuiceDefender is saving my battery by turning ON the 4G antennae in an area I certainly don't have 4G. Good work.

Re: Droid apps
If u use your Web browser on ur phone n goto www.4shared.com u can search any Android app that u would normally pay for n get it for free. Jus a lil secret I have learned. Also when searching make sure after the name u put .apk as that is the Android app suffix.

Holy shit this is awesome. Now they need a stand-alone program for the comp that pops up text messages on the screen to easily respond. Now THAT would be tight.shel311 wrote:Messing with this now.trendon wrote:AirDroid - Ever wanted to access your phone from your computer but didn’t have a cable handy?
