i FOUND THE SOLUTION TO GETTING HIGHER GRADES IN SCOUTING REPORTS FROM
SOME COACH'S IN THIS LEAGUE.... LOSE..... THEN YOU WILL GET GOOD GRADES..

and Beer cop, I agree.... I even signed all my coach reports with my name...

As long as you are mixing your plays and formations then I see nothing wrong with running it down someone's throat. Why would it be ok to pass all game but not run? :?

There are very few things in this game that I would consider cheese.

I think because of the tendencies for the number of picks we see. Guys dont mind getting those picks, but if they get run all over its cheese.

People always say "passing is so much easier in this game" yet the numbers dont support that. You still see more teams with more interceptions than touchdowns.

So people dont mind as much when every play is a pass compared to getting run all over is my guess.

On another note, I only had one comment on my coaching reports and it was good. In the past at least had 7 or 8 comments on the low end. I leave a comment on everyone i play, I think it's just being a good coach in the league. Kind of like the hand shake at the end of a game. Am I the only one who does this?

Well we scrimmed the other night and I absolutely had no problem with your play clalling.
I hope you felt the same way because that is how I plan on using NMSU.
Now I can gurantee you I will get low reports simply because of my pass heavy approach with this team

I just wish more people would leave comments. Sometimes its hard to improve on a particular area when you don't have anything to go off of. I even think if you give 5's you should comment on what the opponent did right, in your eyes, to validate that score. Going into the next season it gives you a better picture on what your strengths and weaknesses are.

The coach reports are always interesting to look at since there are a variety of opinions on what that particular person views as fair play. You could play the exact same way for six games and get six different opinions on your style. Headsets help a bunch since issues can be worked out during the game if they ever arise.

i think you'll be fine as you mix up your formations and tendencies. i know several guys who use pass heavy formations, and to my knowledge, they've not had a problem. i did it with baylor two seasons ago. it was a blast to do something different.

I sometimes struggle to get myself to type up a recap of my game, especially when my opponent has already posted a kick ass, academy award winning video and write-up, before I had a chance! :)

I also struggle to get myself to tally up and include my team's tackle numbers and my o-line's pancake numbers. Two stats that I couldn't care less about, in a video game. BUT, how much time and effort does it take to fill out that coach report and leave 1-2 sentences of details?

Even if you gave your opponent all 5's, how much of a hassle is it to type: "Enjoyed playing this guy. Mixed it up on "O" and showed good sportsmanship."

And if you docked a guy, even just down to a 4, how bad is it to type: "Chose to run the ball 38 of 41 times on offense. That may be what Navy does, but that's not realistic for 99% of college teams, so I gave him a 4 for offensive variety."

If there's one good thing that hopefully will come out of these "NDL Probation" emails that were sent out, it's that maybe people will take the extra 30 seconds to add comments, no matter what they gave out for points.

It's anonymous, so no need to pussy out! If you're not picky and almost always give out 5's, great. Leave a short positive statement about your opponent. If you are somewhat nit-picky (and that's YOUR choice to be, so don't be bullied by other people that think otherwise, it's your vote, not theirs), fine.....but be respectful enough to let the guy know what you didn't like. If he gets all defensive about it, that's his problem NOT YOURS.

ChampDizzle wrote:The only thing that made be lower a report was using "high jump passes" 99% of the time and not showing sportsmanship when up big and not playing subs. Other than that, to each its own. Do what works for you with your team. But I agree that it is best to wait before doing a report cause emotions do run high. Me and a certain coach had a "heated" discussion right after which was not good, so this I apologize. But it was only due to the sub situation but it did open an unneccesary out of date can of worms.
The crazy thing about how people perceive starters and subs is dependent upon the owner of that particular team. To be honest, I start Terrelle Pryor (sub) and Brandon Saine (sub)......it did not look like it, but I do start him as Chris Wells is regulated to 2nd string with the sub ins from the R3 button. Sometimes I even put in Maurice Wells and people cannot tell the difference at halftime, all they see is Wells on the back of the jersey. But that Wells is faster and accelerates even better.

If you are talking about our conversation, please forgive me if you are not talking about our conversation, so this, I apologize. It is over, I could care less about last season, but I would like to move on and forget the whole thing. Because it would not be beneficial for either of us as we play each other again in Week 5. I have to deal with strained situations at work, therefore, I do not really care about arguing over a video game or the game play.

I know how I play as certain owners can interpret running the score up or not, as I get down to the a certain yard line then kneel it. I even dive if I have an interception or just kneel the ball all four downs.....some people do not like it, as it is either disrespectful in their eyes as well as a show of good sportsmanship. I did that the season prior to last in our game, as I dove after an interception that could have been returned for a touchdown. What each owner perceives is totally different from another. Yes, what is right for another owner, may be bad for the next.........as you just have to play it safe.

A lot of people play me know that I play straight as evidence in keeping Ohio State for three seasons.......therefore our game was the exception. If I offended you in any way........lets just move on and enjoy this video game and league.

yeah BR since you brought it up, it was the fact that Beanie Wells was in the game late up 27-0. He is impact so even though he didn't start, he is still considered impact. I would rather you pause and put in another RB that was not impact and that was my reasoning. It was at a heated moment and you smacked me good. Just the Wells at the end was a tough pill to swallow and that was my only point. But that is the past and we play yet again. When you get up 34-0 by all means score with Wells ;) but seriously, just maybe get your third stringer some reps to ease the pain.
