Sun Belt Conference Block 2 Offensive Player of the Week:

Jamaal Pritchett, WR, South Alabama

South Alabama senior wide receiver Jamaal Pritchett put on a clinic in Week Two, earning Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week honors after torching Appalachian State in a 56-33 statement win.

Pritchett hauled in 7 receptions for 175 yards and 3 touchdowns, averaging a jaw-dropping 25.0 yards per catch. The 5’8” speedster was simply too much for the Mountaineers to handle, using his elite burst and crisp route-running to leave defenders in the dust on one big play after another.

Whether lined up in the slot, on the outside, or even motioning out of the backfield, Pritchett’s versatility kept App State guessing all afternoon. His ability to create separation and explode through seams in the defense made him nearly unguardable, and the Mountaineers paid the price every time they lost track of him.

After a breakout Season 29 campaign that saw him eclipse 1,200 yards, Pritchett looks locked in and ready to be the centerpiece of South Alabama’s offense once again in 2025. Week Two proved one thing loud and clear — if you blink, Jamaal Pritchett is already gone.

Sun Belt Conference Block 2 Defensive Player of the Week:

Kyle Arnholt, LB, Appalachian State

Appalachian State junior linebacker Kyle Arnholt was a game-wrecker in Week Two, earning Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week honors after a dominant performance in the Mountaineers’ 38-30 road win over Air Force.

Arnholt was seemingly everywhere on the field, racking up 11 total tackles, 5 tackles for loss, and a key interception that helped shift momentum in favor of App State. The Falcons struggled to find answers as Arnholt made himself at home in their backfield, blowing up plays and applying constant pressure.

His relentless effort and physical presence were especially impactful in the second half, where he helped disrupt Air Force’s rhythm and put the Mountaineer offense in prime position. That defensive stand set the stage for Appalachian State to pull away late with 10 fourth-quarter points to seal the victory.

Now sitting at 1-1 in Sun Belt play and 2-2 overall, Appalachian State is leaning heavily on Arnholt’s leadership and high-level production. With 31 tackles already on the season, he’s well on pace for a 100-tackle year — and if he keeps flying around like this, a spot on the all-conference team feels all but certain.
