Race To The Title Game Heating Up

Article By: beercop

The Mountain West Conference is heating up with several teams with a shot at being in the conference title game. Here is a look at what we have through 12 weeks,

San Deigo State Aztecs 7-2 4-0 Leading the pack with a 4-0 record in conference and a big win over Boise in week 10. SDSU has 3 games left on the conference slate with UNLV being the most intriguing. But that is a home game along with Air Force and a road game at Utah State. Look for the Aztecs to defend their title in a few weeks.

Boise State 6-3 5-1 The Broncos are nipping at the heels of the Aztecs and would love a rematch for the title. BSU has to travel to Wyoming to close out their conference schedule so they are sitting in a good position to make it back to the title game.

Fresno State 8-3 4-2 Tough losses to UNLV and Nevada have put a sour note on an otherwise great season. Fresno has to travel to play a tough Air Force squad and needs Boise and SDSU to drop some games. There is an outside shot for the Bulldogs so this will be must watch NDL action.

UNLV 2-6 2-1 Sitting at 2-6 overall but with a 2-1 conference record the Rebels still have a nice shot of getting to the title game. They have a loss to Boise but with home games left against SDSU, and Nevada, and road games at SJSU and Utah State, look for UNLV to have a big voice on how the race plays out.
