New Mexico travels to a wounded San Diego State team that looks to continue their undefeated conference slate and get back to their winning ways. Coach Bearass is coming off a big win against Wyoming and has his Lobos playing solid ball. Look for the Lobos to continue to pound the rock and play solid defense. This will be a tight game and it wouldn’t be a shock for the Lobos to get the outright win.
Nevada is one of those teams that can beat anyone one day and lay that egg the next. They have their work cut out against a Bosie team that will rely on their superstar tailback Ashton Jeanty. Something has to give here…will Nevada continue their efficient offense where they are number 2 in the NDL in first downs? Can Boise up their defensive play? The Broncos are 67 out of 134 teams in firsts downs given up. This will be one of the better chest matches in the NDL all year.
Fresno has righted the ship after a couple of close loses behind Mikey Keene and a strong offense. Now comes Air Force who has come on lately with strong play as coach Ank has figured this team out. Being at home Air Force will give the Bulldogs all they want. To make the upset happen Air Force will have to cut down on the fumbles where they rank 4th in the NDL.
Week 12 features another big game for New Mexico when they get Washington State for a home game. The Cougars have been on a tear lately and have the offense rolling in Pullman. If New Mexico can pull a win out here and week 11 they will definitely set themselves up for a nice bowl game, something no one was looking at in the preseason. The Cougars rank in the NDL 32nd in points scores, 9th in first downs, 26th in total offense and 19th in red zone touchdowns. The Lobos defense will have to bring their A game in this one.
