Article By: Florida State once again started from behind after allowing a first play touchdown to Boston College on Sunday evening. It did not take long though for FSU to take the lead and they never trailed again. In fact, they led by multiple possessions for the majority of the game until a late BC rally tied the game at 34 all with 2 minutes remaining. Luke Kromenhoek drove the Seminoles down the field, finding Alabama transfer Malik Benson for the go-ahead score with 18 seconds left.
In what turned out to be another demoralizing news headline out of Tallahassee, it was found that DJ Uiagalelei missed last week's game due to a suspension that went along with that of senior tailback Lawrence Toafili's suspension. Toafili is expected back when the team travels to Dallas in Week 5 to play SMU but it is unknown if DJU will be returning to the program after SeminolesNDLmedia reported that Brock Glenn will continue serving as the backup moving forward. While Luke Kromenhoek seems to have a hold on the starting position, where does that leave DJU?

The nation's leader in all-purpose yards, Caziah Holmes gained 276 yards on 24 touches. Holmes broke loose for multiple big runs, found the endzone twice and had 138 combined YAC/RAC. Roydell Williams returned to the lineup after missing the season opener. Williams found the endzone while rushing for 50 yards and on 5 carries. SeminolesNDLmedia reported earlier this week that Williams missed 2 days of practice due to an illness but was not suspended along with starting QB DJ Uiagalelei and starting RB Lawrence Toafili.
The Seminoles defense continues to play with an all or nothing attitude as they sacked Boston College QB Thomas Castellanos 5 times and had 10 total TFL between 8 different players as they sent pressure from all angles. Castellanos was battle tested and went 16 of 22 for 316 yards and 2 TDs, rallying the Golden Eagles to a tie in the final minutes. The comeback was in large part due to the BC defense making crucial fourth quarter stops in the redzone. Two short field goals extended the Seminoles lead to 7 with 2:29 remaining.
That's when Castellanos found Freshman RB Datrell Jones with a late pitch on a power option and Jones took it the distance down the sideline. While he was outdone by Holmes, Jones still managed to turn heads and keep the Eagles fighting with 231 all-purpose yards including 181 on the ground.
Next Up: Florida State (2-0, 2-0) host #2 Oklahoma (1-0, 0-0) - The Sooners are led by two-time defending NDL champion head coach Jiggy Jrod. Coach Carr and Coach Jiggy have met once before with Carr's Baylor Bears winning a 38-35 home contest versus Jiggys Kansas Jayhawks in Season 29. Since that meeting, Coach Jiggy has more National Championships (2) than losses (1).
