Cincy Wins Beefy Cup Group Opener

In what was looking like a struggle early for the Cincinnati Bearcats offense and defense, a blocked FG on Rutgers turned the tide for the Nasty Nati. The Bearcats were losing 3-0 in the 2nd QTR as Rutgers lined up for a chip-shot FG. The Cincy special teams was able to block it, and that momentum swing got the offense in gear. The Bearcats began to score 34 unanswered until Rutgers scored a garbage time TD to make the score 34-10.

The Bearcats rushing attack was little to nothing against a stout Scarlet Knight defense, but Sorsby did well in the passing game, getting a 205.2 QBR off of going 17-22 for 241 yards and 3 TD/1 INT.

Xavier Henderson went off at WR, scoring a TD on each of his 3 catches and going for 80 yards. Long of 55.

4 members of the Nasty Nati Defense came away with INTs (Willis for 43 yds, Wilson for 24 yds, Young for 2 yds, Canteen for 0 yds). Willis' INT was a pick-6.

Phillips got 2 sacks as the Nati D did 6.5 total sacks.
