Bulldogs looking to Fetch A Championship

Article By: AUChase89

Fresno, CA (AP) – The Fresno State Bulldogs have their man.

The Bulldogs look to former Troy and Texas Tech coach AUChase for Season 31 and are hoping to turn this program around after a 4-8 season in NDL Season 30.

Just two seasons ago the Bulldogs won their first Mountain West Conference Championship and are looking to get back there. This move surprises many considering Coach AUChase’s poor overall record as a head coach but the Fresno State Administration felt strongly about his vision for the program in a conference littered with NDL Veterans. America loves a redemption story and Fresno State fans are buying into the possibility this season.

Fresno’s schedule is littered with NDL Veterans and skews heavily towards road games. The Bulldogs open the season with FIVE straight road games at Ohio, BYU, Jacksonville State, New Mexico, and UNLV before playing a home game against UMASS. It’s a daunting travel schedule that by car would take 13,488 miles. There’s still a few days to go until the season kicks off and Head Coach AUChase is still asking boosters to help support the team or they will be forced to borrow school busses from the local High Schools and lose valuable practice days.

The Bulldog’s overall win goal this year is 7 games. Unfortunately for Fresno, Coach AUChase has never eclipsed 6 games as a head coach. We spoke to the coach, and he felt confident though. We asked his thoughts on the upcoming season, and he replied “First of all, thank you for the warm welcome. I know there are skeptics and doubters, but my coaching staff is comfortable with those. We are accustomed to the bright lights coming from the NDL’s best conference last season where we played 25% of the playoff field last year. Our staff’s goal is to take lessons learned from our past experiences and utilize them to help our players. This conference and our schedule is littered with so many decorated and respected coaches. I am looking forward to taking our team out there and playing with those coaches.”

If you’re looking to see Fresno in action before the season kicks off, they will be competing in Group 3 of the Beefy Cup which includes Memphis, Mississippi State, WVU, and Ball State. The Bulldogs opened Cup play with a win against the SEC’s own Mississippi State. All cowbells were confiscated and destroyed prior to kickoff which helped propel the team to a 37-34 W.
