The Louisville Cardinals started strong in the beefy cup group play, going 3-0 and securing impressive victories over great teams like San Diego State, UCLA, and Vanderbilt.
Game 1 vs SDSU - This game between these two coaches looked to be a shootout from the start with both coaches knowing the strengths of their offenses and defenses and indeed it was With over 900 yards offensive in a game where there were 70 points in total scored between both teams. This game was controlled by Coach Bigz early with his incredible run game and his accurate passing attack in an early 21-14 lead from SDSU then while the Cardinals were driving down the field a pass intended for Losuivlle tight end was picked off from a tipped pass. Coach Groovy knew going into this game that it would not be easy knowing that Coach Bigz went 10-2 last season. After a couple back to back-to-back scores and stops coach Goovy was able to pull away with a 17-point victory against SDSU 45-28.
Game 2 UCLA -- This game was a very defensive one, with only 23 points scored. UCLA was able to slow down a good Louisville offense, but with red zone turnovers, the deficit was too great to dig themselves out of. The passing attack for the Bruins proved to be a bright spot and coach Mjkemp said after the game that with their passing attack and ability to get stops the season of UCLA will look very bright if they continue to dominate the air. During this game, Lousivle was very balanced with 230 yards rushing and 166 yards passing doing both through the air and the ground to give the 20-3 victory over the UCLA team who is coached very well.
Game 3 Vanderbilt - In a thrilling showdown, the Louisville Cardinals edged out the Vanderbilt Commodores 45-42 after Vanderbilt's last-minute field goal attempt to tie the game fell short. Louisville sprinted to an early 21-7 lead, showcasing their offensive prowess, but Vanderbilt fought back tenaciously, refusing to back down as they clawed their way into a nail-biting finish. It was a true testament to the resilience and determination of both teams in a memorable clash!
With still one more game to go against coach Jeffdaddy and his well-coach Hawaii team, Losuvlle looks to go 4-0 in group play.
