As the crisp air of January settles in, the anticipation for a new NDL season reaches a fever pitch. Teams across the Big XII have spent hours preparing, fine-tuning their draft strategies, hoping to pick the team they were dreaming of. Coaches return to their PS5's and Xboxes, filled with optimism, while the digital athletes take the field with one goal in mind: glory. With rivalries renewed and new contenders emerging, the stage is set for another unforgettable season of hard-hitting action, breathtaking plays, and unforgettable moments. The journey to the championship starts now—who will rise to the occasion?
The Big XII did go through a big makeover for the upcoming 31st season. Two two reigning champ JiggyJrod has moved on to greener pastures, VegasXXii and Mjkemp followed suit after their epic runs with Baylor and Cincy. Several stalwarts remain, like Dcanady, Smitty, and srgtzt.
Who will be this seasons challengers? Who will win the Big XII? And how many of you will make the CFP? There's some big shoes to fill but you guys will no doubt be up for the challenge. Let's take a moment to meet our coaches.
Arizona Wildcats - Korben_Dallas7 A two year veteran to the NDL with a 17-19 record. Led Colorado State last season to a 9-5 record and a bowl game loss. With this new team he has the potential to be a real threat here in the Big XII.
Arizona State Sun Devils - priest19 A long standing vet with 19 years at the helm and a 72-180 record. Returns to ASU this season after a 2-10 season last year. Looking to build on last years record and prove he belongs here.
Baylor Bears - Cnasty One of our oldest vets with 23 years of time on the platform and a 242-130 overall record, not to mention a national championship and THREE NDL Cup championships. In his return to the NDL in season 30 he took some lumps with UMass. This season he steps in with some big shoes to fill with Baylor. Will he be able to follow the lead set forth by last years coach?
BYU Cougars - TheBruisedBagel A two year veteran returning for another season at BYU with a 10-23 overall record. Picked things up toward the end of last season and is hoping to continue that trend entering this season.
Cincinnati Bearcats - Ofc Meep Another two year vet with Louisville and Army teams under his belt and an 18-17 overall. Meep has successfully made it to two post season bids and now takes over a Bearcats team that was pretty successful last season. Will the trend continue?
Colorado Buffaloes - Dcanady1 If you don't know this guy yet get ready. An overall record of 31-11 with a conference championship and an appearance in the CFP last season. Will be a huge favorite this season to win the Big XII and be in the CFP again.
Houston Cougars - Yragha A 13 season vet of the NDL sporting a 44-132 overall. Has spent the last two seasons at Houston and now returns for his third. Hoping to improve on his back to back 3-9 seasons.
Iowa State Cyclones - Neal Sporting an overall record of 20-15 in two NDL seasons, Neal steps in looking to continue building on the success of ISU last season. Has not suffered a losing season yet and bet he doesn't this season either.
Kansas Jayhawks - razorback44 Spending 10 seasons with the NDL, has accumulated a 95-63 overall record. Four of those years with the Louisville Cardinals. Coming off a 5-8 season with Purdue last season but now has a team that many will be watching to see how they fair this season.
Kansas State Wildcats - TexaNole Two year vet with a 16-18 overall record. Took Tulsa to a bowl game win last season with a 6-7 record.
Oklahoma State Cowboys - Chillichill79 Another two year vet who has compiled an 11-22 overall record. Coached FIU last season taking them to a bowl game win.
TCU Horned Frogs - srgtzt Staying with the theme, a two year vet with an impressive 24-14 overall record. Back to back 9-4 seasons with South Alabama and then TCU last season. He will no longer be a dark horse in the Big XII.
Texas Tech Red Raiders - Addilopes Returns to the NDL for his second season. Led NIU to an 8-5 record last season but a bowl loss. His overall stands at 8-9.
UCF Knights - Smitty229 Entering his third season in the NDL, has amassed a 38-8 overall record. Led Toledo to a 12-1 season and followed that up with a 13-3 season at Iowa State along with a CFP appearance. Rumor has it UCF has the team to run the type of offense he prefers, soooo.....
Utah Utes - jasonuk A 16 season vet with a 155-97 overall record ... and LOVES the Louisville Cardinals. Big big fan. Led Cal to a 10-3 record last season and has claimed 6 conference championships during his time in the NDL.
West Virginia Mountaineers - Lambchop99 Last but not least, and you won't believe this .... another two year vet! Has compiled a 6-25 record while at Ole Miss and Georgia Southern. He'll get to start improving on that record with a solid WVU squad this season.
Good luck to every member of the Big XII this season and I look forward to watching you all accomplish great things!
