XII All Conference Team

Article By: Wasted Memory

The end of the season is here and the NDL is wrapping everything up with the bowl games and CFP taking place over the next week or so. The Big XII has had a great season with some solid coaches leading their players on the battlefield. Teams are now reflecting on their journeys, from thrilling victories to hard-fought battles. With conference standings solidified and bowl game aspirations either realized or crushed, it's a pivotal time for programs to assess their performances and lay the groundwork for the future. As we wrap up the season, let's take a look at the standout stars and what they were able to accomplish in this competitive landscape.

OFFENSE

QB Shedeur Sanders - Colorado Buffaloes - 3398 Yards / 26 TD's / 9 INT's / 230.2 Rating
There were different QB's out there with better numbers in different categories, but as a complete package Sanders had all the numbers. Helping lead his team to a 10-2 record and an upset over Kansas.

Honorable Mentions: Josh Hoover - TCU & Jalon Daniels - Kansas

RB Tahj Brooks - Texas Tech Red Raiders - 259 Carries / 1846 Yards / 27 TD's
Was a work horse for TTU. Only one other RB in the XII had over 200 carries and he had almost 700 less yards. Also led the XII in rushing TD's.

Corey Kiner - Cincinnati Bearcats - 178 Carries / 1508 Yards / 17 TD's
Saw a dip from last seasons numbers when he also made the All XII Team. Still a very vital part to a successful 10-2 season for the Bearcats.

Honorable Mentions: Devin Neal - Kansas & Jaylon Jackson - Iowa State

WR Travis Hunter - Colorado Buffaloes - 59 Catches / 1600 Yards / 15 TD's
Someone had to give Sanders all those passing yards and it's hard to deny Hunter. Hunter averaged a TD every 3.9 touches. Almost 500 more yards than the next closest WR.

WR Josh Kelly - Texas Tech Red Raiders - 50 Catches / 1131 Yards / 12 TD's
Another successful offensive weapon on the Red Raiders. Makes you wonder what happened!?!

Honorable Mentions: Major Everhart & Savion Williams - Texas Christian

TE Brant Kuithe - Utah Utes - 58 Catches / 849 Yards / 15 TD's
Just as reliable a scoring option as the Great Travis Hunter. He didn't need nearly as many yards though. A PettyD offense likes to run through the TE as this is his second TE to make an all conference team.

Honorable Mentions: Keyan Burnett - Arizona & Leyton Cure - Kansas

Offensive Line: Dylan Barrett - Iowa State, Luke Kandra - Cincinnati, Michael Mokofisi - Utah, Jalen Travis - Iowa State, Tomas Rimac - West Virginia

DEFENSE

DE Tyler Batty - Brigham Young Cougars - 46 TKL / 13 TFL / 4 SKS / 1 PD / 1 FF
Disruptive force on the outside for BYU. His sacks number wasn't as high as some but his tackle numbers combined with the TFL made him a disruptive force.

DE Clayton Smith - Arizona State Sun Devils - 46 TKL / 16 TFL / 1.5 SKS / 2 PD / 1 FF
Just as disruptive as Batty. These two on both ends of your DL mean trouble.

Honorable Mentions: Jordan Allen - Kansas State & Joey Peterson - Iowa State

DT Junior Tafuna - Utah Utes - 39 TKL / 22 TFL / 4 SKS
Clogged up the middle forcing negative plays.

DT J.R. Singleton - Iowa State Cyclones - 33 TKL / 15 TFL / 6.5 SKS
Solid contributions to his defensive line forcing 15 negative plays with 7 of those leading to QB sacks.

Honorable Mentions: John Nelson - BYU & Paul Oyewale - TCU

LB Jack Dingle - Cincinnati Bearcats - 140 TKL / 8 TFL / 1 SK / 1 PD / 1 FF / 1 FR
Next closest tackler in the XII had 40 less. Dingle patrolled the middle ground and didn't let any one by.

LB Johnny Hodges - Texas Christina Horned Frogs - 100 TKL / 8 TFL/ 2 INT / 3 PD /
Speaking of next closest. Hodges was another dominate backer that the offense tried, usually unsuccessfully, to avoid.

Kooper Ebel - 81 TKL / 11 TFL / 8 INTs / 6 PD / 1 FF
Not as impressive in the tackle numbers but still capable of getting in the backfield and stopping plays before they could even begin. Led the XII in INT's as well.

Honorable Mentions: Zyrus Fiaseu - ASU, Nick Martin - OSU, & Karene Reid - Utah Utes

CB Jakob Robinson - Brigham Young Cougars - 87 TKL / 3 TFL / 4 INT / 8 PD / 2 DTD / 1 FR
Complete package in the defensive backfield. Cleaned up missed tackles by the front seven, made QB's try to avoid throwing in his direction, and was able to score twice.

CB Maurion Horn - Texas Tech Red Raiders - 48 TKL / 2 TFL / 6 INT / 3 DTD / 4 PD
Lower tackles than some other highly rated CB's but as a complete overall package he stood out slightly from some other very tough choices.

Honorable Mentions: C.J. Baskerville - TTU, Travis Hunter - Colorado, & Joshua Minkins - Cincinnati

S Bud Clark - Texas Christian Horned Frogs - 84 TKL / 5 TFL / 0.5 SKS / 4 INT / 1 PD / 1 DTD / 1 FF / 2 FR
Clark was able to record a stat in every major category on defense. No other DB is able to claim that.

S Talan Alfrey - Brigham Young Cougars - 76 TKL / 1 TFL / 6 INT / 8 PD / 1 DTD / 1 FF / 2 FR
Just missed out on completely filling out his stats by not recording a sack. Another guy who performed well cleaning up the front sevens mistakes.

Honorable Mentions: Devin Lemear - Baylor & VJ Payne - Kansas State
