Must be the Whiskey

Article By: TexaNole

Tulsa’s rollercoaster season under Coach TexaNole took another gut-wrenching turn as they let a 14-0 lead slip away to the Bulls. The game started with fireworks—a hot start powered by an early pick-six. Momentum seemed firmly in their favor. But as has been the story of their season, Tulsa couldn’t sustain it. The team grew complacent, and it cost them dearly.

Meanwhile, Coach usmarine7t and his resilient Bulls refused to fold. Down 14 early, they dug in, chipping away at Tulsa’s lead and staging a dramatic comeback. On the final drive, their clutch performance sealed a victory, a testament to their never-say-die attitude.

For Tulsa, this marked their fifth one-score loss of the season, all decided on the final drives. The heartbreak is mounting, and whispers of what might have been echo louder with every close defeat.

Off the field, Coach TexaNole’s troubles have become a subplot of their season. Known for his charismatic sideline presence, it seems his personal struggles have taken a toll. Reports indicate he plans to step away from coaching after the season, entering rehab to reset before the draft. Coaching while “hammered on the sidelines,” as some have speculated, might explain why those final moments of games have repeatedly slipped away.

As the Tulsa chapter closes for TexaNole, fans are left wondering what’s next for the program—and for their embattled coach. The talent was there, but the results weren’t. Here’s hoping for a brighter, more focused future for all involved.

Cheers to new beginnings.
