barn burner here. Picks will do the Vols in late…Bama 27-24 UF @ UK – The Wildcats say they love the underdog role and I’m not buying it – neither
are the Gators. The UF D silences the UK O in this one…UF 34-13
MSU @ TAMU – This one will be closer than you would expect but the Aggies still win
and no upset here…A&M 28-14 MIZZOU @ AUBURN – A must-win for both but I have the Mizzou O overwhelming the
Auburn D here…Mizz 45-21
OU @ SC – The Gamecock train will just keep chugging along here – CHOO
CHOO…SC 38-3 PSU @ OLE MISS – I want to take Ole Miss but the impact backs of PSU will be too
much for a salty Rebel defense…PSU 27-24 UPSET OF THE WEEK:
TEXAS @ UGA – Where there are men there will be war and where there is football there will
be men. This is another showcase game for the SEC and another projected slugfest for UGA.
They let me down in their last appearance in the upset of the week so maybe the SEC Media is
the jinx. I’d love more data on UT but one thing we do know about Texas is that they’re one of
the top teams in the country – so are the Dawgs. I’ve got a war brewing throughout with no lead
bigger than 10 – the last team with the ball wins it and UGA kicks a game-winning FG…UGA
27-24
GAME OF THE WEEK:
ARK @ LSU – something weird has me thinking this game could end up coming down to the
final seconds. I will note the magic eightball has not been consulted so if it’s a route we have to
put blame on the conference commissioner for placing me in front of the keyboard.
The Tigers are the clear favorite on paper with names like Nussmeier, Jackson, Daniels, Penn,
Perkins, and Burns. We’ve already seen this season with this very same LSU team that games
are won on the field. Besides, Arkansas can throw up their own players who will wreck an
opposing team – Green, Jackson, Anthony, Sorey, and Clark. Now that we got the names down
let’s get to brass tax.
Arkansas can survive this and the next few weeks get a bit easier. First things first,
however. The Razorbacks can stay afloat with a win here as the A&M upset was huge for this
team especially coming off the tough seven-point loss to Auburn. The sky is the limit for this
team or a quick nosedive off the cliff.
1. Two losses and two lost turnover games.
2. Top passing team in the SEC but second in picks – get the RB involved.
3. The defense has to slow the Tiger ground game.
LSU probably doesn’t look at the game through my lenses but they’ll be in for a game
against Coach Texasfan and Co. The Tigers have won three straight but let’s not sugarcoat the
wins – they are not SEC quality teams and two are not even in the Power Four conferences
(Michigan State, Central Michigan, and Liberty). So yes, this will be the second test for LSU –
they failed the first test against SC.
1. Take advantage of the picks Ark will throw.
2. Pound the Ark front seven into submission.
3. Hit the Ark secondary deep when presented. PREDICTION
