WEEK 6 SEC MEDIA PICKS

Article By: xLiQx

UF - BYE
MIZZOU – BYE
TEXAS – BYE
VANDY@ BAMA – This is a mismatch – Vandy will begging to be let out of the SEC
after this game…Bama 35-0
ARK @ TENN – This one could be entertaining but playing in Knoxville presents its own
challenges. Kick in a high-powered Vols O and your own problems as Tenn pulls away in the
second half…38-27
UGA: @ AUBURN – The Tigers need to get their O on big plays and that’s just not
something he’ll get against the Dawg D. I fully expect Georgia to roll big in this game…UGA
42-7
LSU: @ LIBERTY – Liberty has lost to one SEC team on the season (SC) and I expect a
second loss to the Tigers. LSU’s D will take control early and give the O easy scoring
opportunities…LSU 38-10
MSU @ :UTAH – The Utes have a very nice roster, undefeated, and putting up nearly 38
ppg. As noted several times the Bulldogs are just not scoring and the struggle will continue
here…Utah 38-10
OU @ ILLINOIS – Really like this game as both teams are going to look to pound the
rock. It may be a fast game but I’m rolling with the Sooners on the road with a better
defense…OU 21-20
SC @ OLE MISS – We here at the SEC Media just love to give Ole Miss bulletin board
material so why stop now. SC are our new darlings and until beat we’ll ride them a bit. The SC
O will just be too much for the Rebel D to handle…SC 31-23
UPSET OF THE WEEK:
UK @ CINCY – I’m usually all over the SEC’s nuts in the SEC vs. The World but I have a weird
feeling in this one. Cincy QB Brendan Sorsby is completing over 84% of his passes and RB
Corey Kiner is averaging over yards a pop. The Wildcat D will be tested here no doubt, but the
game will come down to how their O will play. The Bearcats gave up 30 to Pittsburgh so they’re
not a brick wall. UK has a super advantage with their receiving corps so if the Cats get their
claws into the Cincy secondary it will be game on. I got the Cincy O being slightly better in
pulling the upset.
PREDICTION:’
Cincy 31
UK 28

GAME OF THE WEEK:
TAMU @ MIZZOU – Are we sick of TAMU as GOTW yet? Slip a certain USC head coach a
fiver and you may get it. This one is more of seeing where the Tigers stack up…basically, are
they ready for prime time. We’ll add the pressure to Mizzou – home game and now GOTW – it
just got real. Now for the game…
A&M hasn’t been bad or even average so far – we’re just expecting more from that talented
offensive roster. They put up 421 yards of O against UVA so maybe they’re opening the O and
figuring things out as we move along. While we’re talking about UVA, the Aggie D gave up 153
rushing yards (175 if you don’t count sack yards).
The Tigers have some nice wins on their resume so far. They’ve scored a ton of points but also
have given up points in bunches. One impressive stat is how dominate they’ve been in the first
half by outscoring their opponents 63-28. They pounce on you quickly and dare you to try to
keep up. So far so good in Columbia.
Now, after looking at each team the A&M D will be the best the Tigers have faced on the season.
I like a good defense but at some point you’ll have to score. I believe the Tiger O will eventually
break through for big plays and points and TAMU will have some issues reeling them all the way
back in.
KEYS FOR TAMU:
1. Make Mizzou work for their points;
2. Slow the pace of the game down; and
3. Hit the Tiger D with your own big play scores.’
KEYS FOR MIZZOU:
1. Keep that fast first half pace.
2. Turn the Aggie O one dimensional; and
3. Slow down the Aggie RB’s.
PREDICTION:
MIZZOU 38
A&M 35
