Metrodee Ready for Season 2

Article By: metrodee

There were a lot of factors that went into the decision to leave Charlotte, but honestly, the challenge of coaching in the SEC was a big motivator. This is the premier conference in college football, and competing against the best is what drives me. South Carolina has a passionate fan base, great facilities, and a commitment to building a strong program. The opportunity to be part of that and to help elevate it is something I couldn’t pass up.

We know what we’re getting into. There are no easy games in the SEC, every team is loaded with talent, and you’ve got to be ready week in and week out. This team made the conference championship last season but used controversial tactics, that’s not my style. My approach is going to be about building a culture of toughness, discipline, and accountability and you’ll see that with my team. It’s not just about winning one game or having one great season; it’s about sustained success. That starts with going to war with the right players and creating an environment where they can develop and thrive. It is a big reason why I believe we have had this much success so far this season. Unlike our week 1 opponents we don’t run form anybody, we take the challenge head on believing we can win it’s up to us to prove people wrong and show them why they should believe in us.

It’s about building a foundation for long-term success. South Carolina has all the ingredients to be a top program; great location, strong support, and passionate fans. We need to establish a winning culture and get everyone on the same page, from the players to the coaches and support staff. That starts with preparation, hard work, and attention to detail. We’re not going to focus on shortcuts or quick fixes; we’re going to build this thing the right way.

I want us to be a team that competes at a high level every year. I want fans to see a program that plays with toughness, passion, and pride. We’re going to embrace the grind of the SEC and make Williams-Brice Stadium one of the toughest places to play in college football. Our goal is to consistently compete for championships, and I believe with the right approach, we can get there.

My message to the fans is that we’re going to give you a team that reflects your passion and your pride. We’re going to work hard, compete, and represent this university in a way that makes you proud. I’m excited to be here and to be a part of this community. I can’t wait to see Williams-Brice Stadium rocking on game days. We’re building something special, and we need the fans to be with us every step of the way.
