Late Night Mayhem for LSU Stars

Article By: bucknut333

BATON ROUGE - LSU star QB Garrett Nussmeier and RB Caden Durham have been arrested and charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest in Baton Rouge late Saturday night after their controversial win against Michigan State.

The duo lit up the scoreboard against the Spartans but got a little too lit later that night as they were stopped by LSU police at 3:30 AM for speeding. LSU police report they stopped a white Ford F-150 Raptor for going 54 MPH in a 25 MPH street just off-campus and found Nussmeier driving with Durham passed out in cab. Nussmeier got out of his truck at the request of police while Durham was woken up and asked to step outside for further questioning. With whiskey on his breath, Nussmeier tried to explain that he was being a leader of the team and driving his Freshman RB back to his dorm since he drank too much at an after party. Durham, still in a drunken stupor, panicked at the thought of getting kicked off the team and becoming just another Maurice Clarett. He bolted down the road to evade the police only to be found on the front porch of the house party they left locked out and trying to beat down the door. LSU campus police took both Nussmeier and Durham in for booking and were later released by school officials.

During his Monday morning press conference, Coach Bucknut announced that both Nussmeier and Durham would be suspended for the next 2 games of the season. By SEC standards (looking at you Georgia) this is a fitting suspension as the Tigers will be without their stars for South Carolina and Central Michigan.

Coach was visibly frustrated with his players as well as with campus police as he said: "I thought I understood the drunk driving law around here but clearly I've been mistaken. Back home in the fields of Ohio you can have 3, 4, heck even 6 beers and be fine driving home. Often times it just made the ride back home that much quicker. Now I’m not justifying what Garrett and Caden did, I’m telling you what decision I made. Well, I thought, ‘I’ve probably done that a thousand times in my life, and you know it was just fine.’ So I got lucky. People get lucky. Garrett and Caden made a decision that they wished they could have done better, but when I talked to them, I told 'em, ‘You’re lucky, you got out light.’.
