The new block is set to be opened this Sunday so let's take a moment to look at some big games coming up on the Big XII docket.

Week 3
It's a lot of games to focus on for one week, but they're all RIVALRY games! This might as well be hatred week for the Big XII!
Miami OH (0-0) (suddenblues) vs (1-0) Cincinnati (Mjkemp15) - The Battle of the Bell. This will be Cincy's second rivalry game in as many weeks. At this time, Miami has not played any games so we have no statistical data to compare but I suspect Cincy will walk away with their second rivalry win as Mjkemp has shown he is a force to be reckoned with.
Prediction: Cincinnati
Houston (1-1) (Yragha) vs Rice (0-0) (Doodee) - The Administaff Bayou Bucket has always favored Houston in the NDL world. Coach Yragha has an exciting offense to play again that has lots of big play potential. Coach doodee has a lot of experience and despite a bad showing last season he still is one to keep an eye on. Houston will keep it entertaining and I will be rooting for them but look for Rice to pull off the W.
Prediction: Rice
Colorado State (1-1) (Korben_Dallas7) vs #13 Colorado (0-0) (Dcanady1) - The Rocky Mountain Showdown. The Buffs want to show everyone that they're here to take over the Big XII. Expect this to be a tune up game as they prepare for next weeks bigger showdown. The Rams will put some points up but they just can't match the firepower of Colorado.
Prediction: Colorado
Utah State (0-0) (Wave214) vs #25 Utah (0-0) (PacksyD) - Battle of the Brothers. Neither coach has been able to play a game yet but one would have to lean heavily toward the Utes taking this rivalry trophy. Coach Packsy does like to turn the ball over (but who doesn't?) and if Utah State can capitalize on that they can keep it close.
Prediction: Utah
Pittsburgh (0-1) (Brohan) vs West Virginia (0-1) (bergerkingcle) - The Backyard Brawl. This will also be West Virginia's second rivalry game in as many weeks. They lost the first one vs VT. On the other side of the field is Pitt who is also coming off a rivalry game loss. Look for Pittsburgh to right the ship at West Virginia's expense.
Prediction: Pittsburgh
Week 4
#13 Colorado (0-0) (Dcanady1) vs #23 Baylor (2-0) (VegasXXii) - This. Is. A. Big one. It's early in the season and these two powerhouses will be looking to exert their dominance and stake an early claim on the inside track for the Big XII conference title. Both squads have a solid defense and know how to put the points up on the scoreboard. Which one will figure out how to do that against the other? Baylor does get the advantage of playing at home and that might be the slight edge that wins if for them. It's a tough call for this commish but I believe I'm leaning toward..... Shoot, I've flip flopped several times here while typing this up. But I believe I'll finally go with...man
Prediction: Baylor
Oklahoma State (1-0) (uf83198) vs #25 Utah (0-0) (PacksyD) - Okie State has a solid team and a good coach leading them. Utah also has a lot of great pieces with another solid coach leading them as well. Another tough game to call but with Coach uf leading my Toppers to an 8-5 record in Season 23 and then, I'll bet he doesn't remember, stealing the Gators from me in the Season 28 draft I have mixed emotions on how I want to pick! Then Packsy took me down last season in my rivalry game. Such tough choices. Despite all that though, I do feel the Cowboys could sneak in and steal the game. But not this season. Another one I've flip flopped on several times.
Prediction: Utah
#21 SMU (2-0) (Block M) vs TCU (1-0) (srgtzt) - The Iron Skillet Rivalry. I believe TCU will be able to do some great things this season, I just don't think they can do it against SMU though. The Mustangs, despite having a new coach, have picked up right where the left off last season.
Prediction: SMU
