Gators go into Hurricane country.

WEEK 1 SEC MEDIA PICKS

Article By: xLiQx

*All games may not be updated as all schedules are not finalized (we’re rolling with what’s out
there currently). If you disagree – prove us wrong.
]

Bama @ Kansas State – The Tide are just too powerful here. KSU will turn the ball over (a lot)
and this will get out of hand in a hurry…Bama 48-17

UVA @ Arkansas – A good matchup for both teams. I like the Razorbacks athletes to take over
and be the difference in this game. The Hoos will throw some jabs, but Ark will have the
knockout punch in the second half…Ark 27-21

Georgia @ UNC – The Tar Heels are nothing to sneeze at but come on – THIS IS GEORGIA. It
will be a fight early, but the Dawgs D will take over after the first to make it ugly…UGA 38-3

MSU @ Tulsa – I’m on shaky ground here wanting our brother to win and rep the SEC.
However, the Bulldogs have not been putting up points early (you need those to win). I have to
take the Golden Hurricanes here as they get it done in the fourth quarter…Tulsa 27-24

Nebraska @ Mizzou – Great matchup with a B10 heavy coming into Columbia. This should be
one to watch but have the Huskers creating some turnovers early and the Tigers not landing on
all four paws…Neb 31-20

Wisconsin @ Ole Miss – I’m a Badger guy 100 but I don’t understand their high ratings in the
game. The Rebels will expose this and have the speed advantage all over the field…Miss 34-14
Tennessee @ WVU – This is another solid out-of-conference game but the Vols D will carry
them here by forcing turnovers for easy offensive scores. While it looks good on paper this one
won’t end well for WVU…Tenn 51-21

Texas @ Coastal Carolina – Coastal had their “one shining moment” season last year. Texas is
already drumming the “hold my beer” after putting an 18-pack down. The Horns will roll
here…UT 45-13

TAMU@ Syracuse – The Carrier Dome has some fast turf and this is not good for the Orange.
I’m expecting a big game from RB Rueben Owens. He’ll set the tone early and the Aggies will
win comfortably…A&M 30-17

Tulane @ Vandy – Tulane took TAMU to the brink in Cup action and outgained them yardage-
wise (lost 29-26). Tulane may be one of those early “keep an eye on” teams and this game will
determine that. While I’m buying the bill of goods Vandy will try to decline my credit card…Tul
31-27

UPSET OF THE WEEK:
ND @ Auburn – The Tigers host one of the top teams from last season so you know they’ve got
some big ones. With that said, I’m going to get a little ballsy myself and take our Tigers over the
Irish with some late-game heroics that get them the unthinkable upset…31-28

GAME OF THE WEEK:
UF @ Miami—This is a Sunshine State battle and a big early game for both. The Gators are
trying to earn some respect, and THA U is having some early struggles in the Beefy Cup that
need to be addressed ASAP. The Cup isn’t the regular season, and I feel D. Martinez will set the
stage for a dominant Cane ground game. I don’t discount the Gators here, I just haven’t seen
what they’re capable of, so cap tip to the Hurricanes in an early battle of Titans…Mia 34-31
