Big 10 Preseason Predictions (Part Four)
Article By: 4. OREGON (Shell311)
OUTLOOK - Coach Shell looks to take his high flying offense from the hills of West Virginia to the glitz and glam of the Nike empire. Rumors are Phil Knight broke out the blank check to get Coach Shel to Oregon as they are hungry for a national title. To stay the outlook is bright is an understatement.
PLAYERS TO WATCH - The Ducks are led by their field general Dillion Gabriel at QB and WR Tez Johnson at wideout. Jabbar Muhammad is the lockdown cover corner leading the Duck Defense.
SEASON PREDICTION - To say a national and B1G title is the expectation is understating the situation. With 11.5 game win total Coach Shel311 has to produce immediately.
3. MARYLAND (BRADYSENIOR)
OUTLOOK - Coach bradysenior famously came within just one last second play from reaching the Playoffs last season with Oregon State in his first year in the NDL. Making the move to the Big 10, he now has the task of taking Maryland to the postseason for the first time since Season 19!! However, from what we’ve seen of this coach he will have no problem using Maryland’s talent on the field to make an impact.
PLAYERS TO WATCH - This team has SPEED at its skill positions, with Tai Felton at wide receiver and Roman Hemby in the backfield, these are dangerous weapons for Coach bradysenior. Kaden Prather is another key wide receiver to watch out for for the Terripans this season.
SEASON PREDICTION - Not the favorite, but easily a dark horse to cause some trouble in the race for the Big Ten title, and we look for Maryland to at the very least to make a bowl game to snap its 10-year streak of no postseason.
2. OHIO STATE (SEEITSAVEIT)
OUTLOOK - Coach Seeitsaveit looks to improve on last season’s conference championship run with a national title run. It’s boom or bust in Buckeye land.
PLAYERS TO WATCH - The Buckeyes are led by stud TB Quinshon Judkins, the Ole Miss transfer, and Sophomore Bama transfer Calab Downs at safety who are both first round NFL locks.
SEASON PREDICTION - The Buckeyes should be favored in every game this season. The week seven tilt at Oregon will determine a lot of the Buckeyes fate this season.
1. MICHIGAN (PHREAKK)
OUTLOOK - Coach phreakk is another returning coach in the Big 10, and hopes his year of experience with the Big Blue will carry them to a title game and potential CFP appearance after a strong Season 29 in which Michigan went 10-3. It’s a tough league though and probably will need no more than two losses to have a shot at the title game.
PLAYERS TO WATCH - Most of last year’s top offensive stars are gone, leaving the defense to shine, led by the highest rated player in the game in cornerback Will Johnson. He’s one of four 90+ rated players on this year’s defense, including a pair of DTs while edge Josiah Stewart makes this one of the top three D-lines in the nation. If they can get their offense rolling, look out for another championship title coming home to the Wolverines.
SEASON PREDICTION - With the favorites at the top being so close in terms of team ratings, a key to the success this season will be how the Wolverines play on the road, as they have a big midseason trip to Eugene to face the Oregon Ducks. However, the finale against Ohio State will be played in Ann Arbor which will be a big advantage.
