Statement From Coach Metrodee

Article By: metrodee

Good afternoon, everyone. Thank you for being here today.

I stand before you at a significant crossroads in my young career. Over the past few weeks, there has been a lot of speculation about my future, and I want to address it with complete transparency.

First, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for this school, this program, and this community. Over the past season, we’ve built something truly special here. The relationships I’ve formed with the players, the coaches, the staff, and the fans have been nothing short of incredible. It’s been an honor to lead this football program, and I’m proud of everything we’ve accomplished together. From the hard-fought victories to the challenges we’ve overcome, every moment has been meaningful.

But as you all know, the world of college football can present new opportunities. Recently, I have been approached with one of those opportunities, a chance to take on a new challenge at a different school. It’s not a decision I take lightly because it involves more than just me; it involves my family, my players, my coaching staff, and all of you who have supported this program.

I’ve spent countless hours reflecting, talking with my family, and praying about what’s best. I’m torn between staying here, with a program and a community I love, and taking on a new challenge that could present new growth and opportunities.

There are two sides to this decision. On one hand, the love I have for this program is undeniable. We’ve built something that feels like family, and walking away from that would be incredibly difficult. I believe in the future we can still create here.

On the other hand, I’m also someone who thrives on challenges and growth. The new opportunity presents a chance to take a program to the next level, with new resources, different challenges, and the possibility of leading a new group of young men to success. It’s a chance to step out of my comfort zone and see what we’re capable of in a different setting.

As of today, no decision has been made. I owe it to myself, my family, and both institutions to weigh everything carefully. But more importantly, I owe it to the players and fans to be honest about where things stand.

Whatever my final decision is, it will be made with full respect for the people who have supported me, the people I care about, and the future of this program. I ask for your patience as I take a little more time to finalize what’s next for me. This is one of the hardest decisions of my career, but I promise you that I will do what I believe is best, not just for me, but for everyone involved.

Thank you for your support and understanding, and I look forward to sharing my decision with you all very soon.

Thank you.
