Fannin continues to impress as he leads the Falcons in Receiving yards.BGSU Holds on!
Article By: Somehow the BGSU Falcons were ranked #12 coming into this week, not exactly sure how....but they aren't holding their breath that they will hold it for much longer.
This block closed up with a big home game vs the high powered offense of Western Michigan and their great HC Sammy33. THE falcons were capable of moving the ball with ease early as a they scored on their first two possessions, unfortunately for their defense they gave up 2 huge plays within the first 4, to keep the game knotted at 14. uncharacteristically QB Connor Bazelek delivered a very late pass to the flat, that was picked off by the WMU defender to give the Broncos the 21-14 lead. ON the next drive a quick 3 and out gave the ball back to the Broncos. Thankfully the Falcons were able to hold them to 3 and only be down 24-14.
After finding some patience on offense, and then playing some more disciplined defense, the Broncos were able to have the lead going into the break. BGSU never really looked back as they continued to pound the rock and were able to find some big plays in the pass game with multiple guys over 100 yds receiving and 5 total passing tds for Connor.
The game did get a little interesting late as with a 9 point lead the Falcons had 1st and 10 inside the redzone, called a dive and with a TO put some pressure on the Falcons. After dodging a bullet after a stellar user lurk, the Falcons settled for a FG to go up 12. As per normal for most of the game, the Broncos scored with ease, got the 2 point and it all came down to an onside, which the Falcons Jaison Patterson recovered to seal the game.
After a rough start, a great middle and a sloppy end, this is not the type of ball thatg the Falcons need to be playing going int the Final Block with Ball St. lurking.
