TCU Tops Cougars
Article By: In a great back and forth game, TCU Horned Frogs finish over the Houston Cougars. What started out as a wild game, seeing both teams make back-to-back turnovers within the first minute. The Cougars returned their interception for a touchdown and went on top early. After forcing a three and out and shutting down TCU's offense, they were able to go up 14-0.
TCU buttoned up and still struggled offensively through the first quarter. In the second quarter TCU would score twice and go into halftime tied at 14-14. In the second half, TCU would come out with a renewed game plan and their offense started driving the ball. TCU took the lead in the third quarter after a 29 yard field goal. TCU then took a double digit lead scoring again. But the Cougars kept it close answering TCU's scores. In the end, TCU would finish on top after a couple key 1st down rushes by Cam Cook late in the 4th quarter.
Ending with 414 yards of total offense and only allowing 20 yards rushing, the TCU Horned Frogs would win the game 31-28. The big difference in the game came down to third down conversions and time of possession. Houston went 0-6 on third and TCU controlled the ball for 19 minutes and 4 seconds.
Great game by Houston giving TCU fits on both sides of the ball and putting up 324 passing yards while limiting TCU's rushing attack to only 76 yards.
