With the non-con out of their way, Maryland turned their sights to the rugged schedule that is the B1G. Sitting 2-2, with Indiana on tap and their bye week on the Horizon, Drewwbacca was adamant that victory was necessary to enter the bye week with some confidence and swagger, before welcoming the 16th rank UNW Wildcats to Capital One Field.
The Terps headed to Indiana to square off with TattooBoyP and the Hoosiers. Maryland took the opening kickoff and drove the field on a 3 and a half minute drive to open the scoring, 7-0. Dante Trader continued his torrid streak and recorded an INT, for his 3rd straight game. Said TattooBoyP, "You picked off z spot. That shook me. I can throw that blindfolded."
Ultimately, the turnover battle did indeed win the day for Drewwbacca and UM. Billy Edwards threw a terrible WR screen that IU took for a house call, but that was the only blemish on the day. Finishing 16/18, for 292, 3 TD's and a 269 passer rating, Billy Edwards once again carried an offense who remains largely famished in the run game.
Kaden Prather put together another strong performance with 5 catches for 129 and a TD on an 81 yard catch and score, with only 20 seconds to go in the first half. Reuben Hypollite, who is top 10 in tackles, in the NDL with 37, led the defensive side of the ball with an astounding 13 tackles.
TattooBoyP made the necessary half time adjustments and defensively held Maryland to just 3 second half points. A costly missed XP kept the game 31-27 and a 4 point differential forcing TattooBoyP to need a TD to win, driving at the end of the game. Ultimately, it proves that it's the little things that matter. Had that been made, TattooBoyP had put together a final drive that was well executed and brought him into very makable FG territory. Had that XP gone through, we could be talking a different outcome.
The game featured a hot start from UM and then a methodical, stick to my guns, climb back into the game by TattooBoyP.
Drewwbacca spent the entire game hype AF, and the 4th quarter in particular saw a spike in the BP, and when Edwards Jr kneeled out the clock, he found his hands shaking and heart pumping with adrenaline, after another fun as hell game, in the NDL.
GG TattooBoyP, I look forward to future matchups!
