It's Time to Focus!

Michigan Turns its Focus to Block 3

Article By: phreakk

The #22 Wolverines fell from #7 after a loss to #17 Tennessee Vols in Rocky Top in Week 2 of the Season. They turn their focus to block 3 after a disappointing showing in the Beefy Cup. They were dominant in their first matchup against UTEP. However, Michigan was brought back to reality with an Overtime loss to Appalachian State where the Mountaineers led for most of the game. Wolverines were able to make a late rally and force OT but fell short on a Maryland I formation on 4th and Inches.

Going into their matchup with Georgia Tech, they knew they had to dominate on all sides of the ball which they showed they were capable of until the 4th quarter where Tech's defense came up with a pick 6 after closing the gap to 3 the previous possession. Tech's defense forced 5 Interceptions in the 4th quarter squandering the Wolverines chances late in the game after a successful Onside Kick.

During the current Block, Michigan welcomed #13 USC to the Big Ten with a showdown at the Big House. USC took a 14-3 lead in the first quarter and Michigan fought adversity as they scored 28 unanswered points in the 2nd and 3rd quarters to open Big Ten play 1-0.

This brings us to Block 3, the Wolverines host Minnesota for the Little Jug at the Big House and have to travel to Washing to play the Huskies.

The Wolverines look forward to the challenge this upcoming week.
