Boone, NC - In a game filled with dramatic twists and turns, the Appalachian State Mountaineers emerged victorious over the Michigan Wolverines, winning 31-24 in overtime. Despite a strong start by Michigan, the Mountaineers capitalized on key turnovers and clutch plays to secure the win.

The Wolverines struck first with a 73-yard touchdown run by Donovan Edwards early in the first quarter. Michigan extended their lead with a 20-yard field goal from Dominic Zvada in the second quarter, making it 10-0.

Appalachian State responded swiftly, with Joey Aguilar connecting on a 52-yard touchdown pass to Eli Wilson. Michael Hughes added a 25-yard field goal just before halftime, tying the game at 10-10.

The third quarter belonged to Appalachian State, as Jordan Favors intercepted a pass and returned it 62 yards for a touchdown. Moments later, David Larkins punched in a 1-yard run to put the Mountaineers up 24-10.

Michigan clawed their way back in the fourth quarter. Davis Warren found Semaj Morgan for a 40-yard touchdown pass, followed by a 3-yard touchdown run by Donovan Edwards to tie the game at 24-24, forcing overtime.

In the extra period, Joey Aguilar and Eli Wilson connected once again, this time on a 13-yard touchdown pass, sealing the victory for the Mountaineers. The Mountaineers stopped the Wolverines on 4th and 1 to preserve the victory for the Mountaineers.

The Wolverines outgained the Mountaineers with 440 total yards to 261, but six interceptions proved costly. Appalachian State's defense stepped up at crucial moments, turning turnovers into points.

Michigan's rushing attack was led by Donovan Edwards with 188 yards, while Davis Warren threw for 252 yards. On the other side, Joey Aguilar passed for 216 yards, with Eli Wilson making pivotal receptions.

Despite the loss, the Wolverines showed resilience, battling back to force overtime. The Mountaineers' opportunistic defense and timely scoring ultimately made the difference in this thrilling contest.
