Gators Survive Shootout Against Liberty

UF outlasted a strong Liberty team in a high-octane offensive battle. The game ended in a 52-34 victory for the Gators at home.

The Gators were absolutely electric in the ground game behind Freshman RB KD Daniels as he had a career day logging 16 carries for 242 yards and two scores. With that performance, that puts him in second place on the Florida Gators single-game rushing record list behind none other than Emmitt Smith.(316 yards vs New Mexico in 1989)

The surprise breakout player for the Gators was Freshman WR Tank Hawkins as he became the first Florida Gator to ever return a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns in the same game.

Florida has two games remaining in pool play against Rice and Kent State.
