With Oregon State transfer DJ Uiagalelei under center there is many question marks at the start of the season, the team is searching for rhythm before week 1, and hoping their rebuild season does not keep them out of the hunt for the playoffs. In his first press conference, Coach Crack said “I’m excited to be apart of this program, the goal is to keep the ball moving in the right direction, and use last year as fuel to continue to grow our team. We have some great guys returning and some new key playmakers coming into our program this year. Practice is pointing to a solid season ahead and we look forward to kick off at Georgia Tech week 1”
Florida State has some key players returning for the 2024 season that the rest of the team will need to rely on to build around. Defensive players, Patrick Payton EDGE, Azareye’h Thomas, CB, and OT Darius Washington are just a few notable names to mention
With so much turnover, Coach O will lean on Washington’s experience and leadership in the locker room and on the field. However, Washington isn’t the only OL worthy of recognition. Center Maurice Smith is back for his sixth and final season. With two SEC transfers on either side of him (Richie Leonard IV, Florida; TJ Ferguson, Alabama), he could be in for an all-conference performance.
