Coach ANK takes over @ CMU in the MAC!
Article By: Coach Ank has decided to take over as the head coach in Mount Pleasant as the ole ball coach. After a long lay-off Coach Ank has decided to return to the sidelines at Central Michigan. Coach will have several decisions to make early in the season. Does he go with the more agile Bert Emanual Jr at QB or the more experienced and much bigger ( 6'4" 225 Joey Labas ? both have their upside..but all depends on what scheme Coach Ank decides to go with. No matter the choice at QB, both must get All-Mac WR Soloman Davis, involved in the passing attack. Davis, A Brighton Tenn. native is poised for a break-out season with the Chippewas. On the defensive side of the ball the LB'er corp is loaded with experience and leadership. 3 year starter Fernando Sanchez is the leader and team capt. but also watch out for ND transfer Chris Ziggler. The secondary is lead by Donter Kent...Kent lead the Chips in pass breakups last season with 23 to go along with his 59 solo tackles. Special teams has to be a concern for CMU this season as they bring a walk-on Fr. in from Nitro WV. I wouldnt be surprised if the kicking game comes back to bite Coach Ank and company in a few close games this season. All in all this should be an exciting season back in the back....this is just a rebuilding season in Mt. Pleasent.... we expect to be in the think of things at the end of the seasaon.
