What were the conversations like between you and the school during the selection process?
Well... a bell went off, I got a text, and this team just jumped off the board at me. So pressing that button seemed like a no brainer.
The terms of your contract have been kept very quiet, can you shed any light on any of that?
At this time I am not getting paid at all. I told the President that if you are going to take a chance on a guy who has never played football, never coached football, and has never been to Ames. Well, then I don't deserve a dollar. But I recently saw the movie Twisters and that was a fun flick. So leading a team called the Cyclones should be just as fun.
Do you have an offensive or defensive mindset that you are excited to bring to Iowa State?
Umm... Football. Also, I was told to mention, Fuck Iowa. Thank you all for your time. I really need to go study how to figure out coverages and to get my players to stop diving for tackles so much.
