FAU closes season 9-1

Coach Champagne came to the Florida Atlantic campus with big hopes and promises, but along with that came many doubts from the fans. After the first two games of the season those doubts began to grow even bigger. The owls were looking at an 0-2 record with a tough schedule the rest of the season. Coach Champagne began practicing with his team and grew relationships with his players. The team fought hard and began eeking out close wins gaining the respect of the fans. Then came the biggest game of the season, playing for the conference lead against a very tough undefeated FIU team ranked in the top 10. Blood sweat and tears were left on the field that day as the Owls kicked a field goal as time expired all but sealing up the conference championship.



The Owls now prepare for their bowl game with talks abound of rookie coach Champagne going elsewhere with offers from around the country coming in. Coach Champagne's dream job would be at his Alma Matter, West Virginia University, but as of now the mountaineers don't look to be hiring. Only time will tell...
