Article By: BIG XII GAME OF THE WEEK

We break the mold this week of featuring you know who, but stay in the state of Texas with TCU and TTU facing off. Texas Christian is having a great run so far and shares the #1 spot in the conference standings with this weeks opponent. Barring any hiccups against Baylor, the Horned Frogs should enter this game sitting at 6-0 (3-0) and will be salivating at the opportunity to knock off TTU and get them out of the shared 1 spot. TCU is averaging 29 points a game and the trend has that number climbing each game. Meanwhile, their defense is only allowing 13 points a game...but that number is also growing each game. Texas Tech has had several big games that could have gotten the Game Of The Week honors. The Red Raiders prepared themselves for games like this by scheduling tough match ups early. Looking back, playing LSU and Wisconsin only made them stronger and tougher to beat. Despite the losses they were both very close games. TTU is just a clip behind TCU's scoring average at 28 PPG, but their defense is not as stout allowing 25 PPG. Look for this to be a high scoring affair with both teams throwing defense out the window.
BIG XII NOTABLES

With the way OU's defense has been playing it's hard to find a positive about the Jayhawks here. Their one hope may lay on a let down game following last weeks rivalry game or maybe they find inspiration in Nevada's win over Okie State. Either way it is going to take a valiant effort from Coach Beefy and Kansas to pull off this upset.

Is SuperJakes record of never having lost a Big XII match up still intact this week? Most likely yes and he'll look to run that record to 12 as he faces another team that just doesn't have the horses to keep up. ISU is currently MIA so we're unable to make any statistical predictions regarding their game play, but ever since OSU's loss in Week 4 SuperJake has been playing much more fluid and getting in a lot of practice (wonder how I know that...), this doesn't bode well for the Cyclones. Okie State is also relishing the thought of watching his two other co-leaders in the conference knock one off the pedestal.

Kansas State must continue to take the "one play, one game at a time" stance. (Yes, it is a Vick reference...but Vick likes dogs (cough, cough) and Champ also likes Dawgs). With just one loss they are still in it. WVU will be a tough game for them though. Talented knows this team well and needs to take the same approach. The 'eers aren't out of this and can definitely make a run.

Texas should still be angry about their loss to the Cowboys and will continue to take that anger out on opposing teams. The Longhorn defense is doing a good job of forcing turnovers and will need to make QB Nick Florence do just that, turn the ball over. Baylor, on the other hand, will enter this game knowing they should lose and will therefore enter loose and look to have fun...which will make them more dangerous. Of note: this is the only unranked match up of the week.
