The "are you fucking kidding me?" region
Kentucky vs. Tulsa: Yes the fighting Jsence's are still alive and are here via sim win, sim win and beating Vanderbilt (Wasted Memory). Not the strongest of teams here. Tulsa had an equally hard road with sim win, bye, sim win to set up this classic match-up. FSUpenguin has been decent in league and may have the upperhand but the chances are this one goes to sim win. Look for Pengy to pick up a 3rd straight simmy.
Hawaii vs. West Virginia: Well, at least we get a decent team here. Talented is a proven coach and poised to lead the mountaineers out of a weak region. His road to the Sweet 16 was sim win, slapping VVV around, sim win. Hawaii led by vickim has posted a similar route with sim win, sim win, and then taking out BYU in the Mormon Bowl. This one should get played but this region has pretty much DGAF'ed the cup as a whole.
The "we care about the cup" region
UCLA vs. Auburn: UCLA has been on a warpath in the cup, they have wins over Notre Dame, Iowa and UConn; Auburn beat Oregon and Arkansas. The region is stacked and these two NDL heavyweights (their teams are mediocre IRL) will go head to head. Auburn is hotter on the season, but UCLA cares more about the cup and will pick up the win.
Stanford vs. Cincinnati: While this match-up doesn't have the pedigree of the other in the region, these two teams are more well known powers. Steamrollr and Weiser are NDL regulars but only one makes deep run the cup his job. Weiser has been itching for a run in the NDL cup and his first piece of hardware, he looks poised to due it.
The "assholes play before I can do a proper write up" region
Florida vs. Penn State: Both teams beat relatively mediocre teams to get to the Sweet 16, but only one will get to play the resurgent Johnny in the Elite 8. Florida has been better and the NDL gods have been shitting on doc all season for leaving Pitt so I feel that Florida will win this one.
Wisconsin vs. Minnesota: Minnesota upset the #1 ranked Badgers. Could this be Johnny's return to glory in the NDL??!?! I don't know but a matchup in the final 4 vs Weasel is possible.
The "bearass owns Nole" region
Oklahoma vs. Georgia: Kansas, Idaho, Temple, Ole Miss, Miss State, Tennessee, SMU, Kansas State. Yes, Georgia has won them all, but they aren't much. Oklahoma has better wins, including kicking LSU (nole) twice! Who else can say that besides bearass? He takes this one.
Michigan State vs. Air Force: Congrats to Air Force, they won 3 games to get here by actually playing them. Michigan State though seems to be getting a free pass to the Elite 8 though. They should overmatch Air Force but stranger things have happened in the cup (they won't this time though).
