Here's What We Know

Article By: NCAA Dynasty League

Only 1 champion in the last 12 seasons has come from a conference OTHER than the Pac 12. or SEC (and it was the freak VVV season), so lets just assume that the champion will likely come from the SEC or Pac 12 again.

So far the NDL is right on par!

Everyone in the ACC has already lost. Virginia Tech already has two losses, NC State has lost, Plasma (last year's champ) and Florida State have lost as well. Dealer has been playing good ball at Miami though so don't count him out. Duke though is the big story out of the ACC, he has been crushing some quality opponents and while he may not run the table, a ranking and screwing over the rest of the ACC's title chances are a real possibility.

The Big 12 (10) just hasn't given us enough games to really judge them. Hoos has lost twice at Oklahoma already and VVV is known for choking with Texas early in the season. He tried to combat it by playing Tulsa (who he got revenge against this year after the loss last year), UCF and Kent State; the problem is none of those teams will help his SOS and VVV isn't going to win any popularity contests with voters, he needs to run the table to have a shot. The team to look out for is Missouri. Crowes has always been a factor and already has wins over Georgia and Oklahoma. He already should be a top 10 team and the real team to watch in the Big 12.

As usual, the Big East is STACKED with quality coaches. Married Dave proved last year that he is a new force to be reckoned with in the NDL. The problem is the Big East will destory itself, just like it does EVERY YEAR. No Big East team has made in the National Championship since Season 8. With hugme at USF, they add another quality coach to the fray. Driccio, talented, ucweiser and doc are back at Uconn, WVU, Cincinnati and Pitt respectively and will be looking to go cannibal on themselves. Look for no one to come out alive after it is all said and done.

The Big 10 (12) is a tale of two divisions... again. The South looks to have the best team this year however. Teewade is ROLLING at Wisconsin and the rest of the leaders conference is in big trouble, here's why: he has already beaten 6ft and Nebraska and South Carolina. He doesn't play Michigan so it looks like his only major roadblock will be Michigan State. Big game, may be a preemptive Big 10 championship preview. Everone in the legends has already lost and only Nebraska's was in conference. Don't expect anyone from this conference to challenge for the National Championship except Wisconsin.

Conference USA is bad... how bad? If you take out RanDawg (who just got YLOD btw), there is only about 10 ranked weeks between all the other coaches COMBINED. Jsense going 9-3 with Washington may be the best season of all other coaches in C-USA. If RanDawg doesn't get it together, it seems likely that no one in the conference will win 8 games.

The independents feature Notre Dame shooting himself in the foot early (again) and ICE trying to get attention at BYU. Neither will be a factor in the National Championship but don't be surprised if they are their at the end of the season ranked somewhere in the teens.

The MAC, specifically the East, has been very vocal this season with Trendon, nick and cdub sparing on the boards. footballkelly, gambit and marine have never been factors in division races before but watch out for thundercoach. He is the unknown there, but a close win over Temple doesn't spell dominant. It doesn't really matter though because more likely than not the winner of the West will thrash the East in the MAC Championship.

The Mountain West was the "it" conference last year, but this year they suffered a drop in coach quality. Air Force still can't figure it out, Boise has lost, so has TCU. The conference hasn't looked too good this season except for San Diego State but even he hasn't done it against anyone of note. It is looking more and more like no one from a non-AQ conference will be vying for a BCS bowl at all let alone the NC.

Stanford won the Pac 12 last year and the National Championship but they have a new coach. They are still too young in the season but have steamrollr under center and has is a proven winner. Is this the year of the Nole? We keep asking it and he is off to a decent start at Oregon, but it is still too early to tell. USC has already lost but you know Reign will screw people over. UCLA is the big surprise here but he was a .500 coach last year that seems more concerned with keeping his team that challenging for the NC a la biffy. The South is awful except for those two, and the North already has packed on the losses.

With so many teams losing in other BCS conferences, you'd think the SEC was dominating. The East is a wreck, Sammy is 4-0 at Kentucky but his opponents have been awful; Florida has lost already and everyone else in the east has already lost TWICE! The West has biffy and AJ sitting undefeated with Bama and LSU respectively, but everyone else has already lost. None of those coaches seem to be perennial powers though. The season may align for biffy and Alabama finally with shel gone and champ appearing to have a down year, but you never know.

The Sun Belt has historically been a breading ground for new coaches, but this year takes it to a whole new level. 4 of the coaches have 1 year or less of NDL experience. Luckily Baker and bsktballjk are there to give them pointers if needed. This conference is still up in the air and someone may be ranked at the end of the season, just have no idea who.

Finally we have the WAC. The conference lost a lot when Boise left and it shows. No one seems poised to make a run at a BCS bowl but razorback has been putting together a nice season so far at LA Tech.
