A rundown of the week's hottest games.
WEEK 1
#11 NC State Wolfpack 0-0 (0-0 ACC) NCSUholmey @ #4 Connecticut Huskies 0-0 (0-0 Big East) DRiccio21
Both teams have returning coaches who are in their 16th and 15th seasons as head coach of their respective teams. Both teams are coming off BCS Bowl game wins last season. And both teams are looking to capitalize on their best season to date with their dynasty coaches. You couldn't ask for a more intriguing Week 1 matchup.
Keys to the game: UConn drove into Raleigh last season and stole one from the Wolfpack 23-13. NC State QB Mike Glennon will have to be accurate throwing the ball against stiffling UConn defense that didn't like giving up very many points last season.
THE UnTouchable Prediction: These two guys have played each other each of the past 12 seasons. Dave holds a 7-5 advantage over Holmey, but Holmey has won 4 of the last 6.
The Wolfpack win a tight one, 26-23.
#3 Virginia Tech Hokies 0-0 (0-0 ACC) VTrunNgun @ #6 South Carolina Gamecocks 0-0 (0-0 SEC) champdizzle
Virginia Tech had to settle winning the Fiesta Bowl after dropping the ACC title game to the aforementioned NC State last season. South Carolina lost the Sugar Bowl to the aforementioned UConn last season. These teams are playing for the ultimate redemption after such promising starts last season.
Keys to the game: Look for both of these teams to run first, pass second in this game. The team that ends up with more rush yards is the team that wins the game.
THE UnTouchable Prediction: It'll be a close one as well, but I think South Carolina just has too many more weapons than Virginia Tech.
Gamecocks win 31-27
Others to watch for:
Oregon Ducks 0-0 (0-0 PAC-12)

#19
Cincinnati Bearcats 0-0 (0-0 Big East)
UCWeiser @ #2
Michigan State Spartans 0-0 (0-0 Big Ten)
Weasel
---Weasel will be looking to get off to a big start after an embarrassing loss in the national title game last season.
WEEK 2
Ohio State Buckeyes 0-0 (0-0 Big Ten) seeitsaveit13 @ #14 Air Force Falcons 0-0 (0-0 MWC) john24
Since John entered this league two seasons ago he has amassed a record of 33-4, won both his bowl games, and captured one conference title. The Falcons lost just two games last season. One to Boise State, the other a heartbreaker against Colorado State. Seeitsaveit was the Rams' coach in that upset. John is looking for revenge in this one.
Keys to the game: The reason Air Force was so successful last season was because of a ground game that got multiple people involved, including dual-threat QB Tim Jefferson. Ohio State will have to minimize Jefferson taking off from the pocket if they want to keep the Falcons out of the endzone.
THE UnTouchable Prediction: John will be thinking upset but if Seeitsaveit could win with Colorado State, it's not even going to be close with a team like Ohio State.
Buckeyes win 37-20.
Oklahoma Sooners 0-0 (0-0 Big 12) Hoos @ #7 Alabama Crimson Tide 0-0 (0-0 SEC) BFiVL
Here's a stat for you: Biffy and Alabama have not lost a regular season non-conference game since Season 12, when LGF and Northern Illinois knocked off the Tigers 14-7. Hoos has landed arguably his best team to date. He can really make a statement if he could somehow pull off a road upset here.
Keys to the game: Look for OU QB Landry Jones to hook up with WR Ryan Broyles early and often. The Tide will attack on the ground with RB Trent Richardson, who is also threat on short passes and screens. When Richardson gets in open space, it's tough to bring him down.
THE UnTouchable Prediction: Biffy knows his team well and continues his streak easily.
Tide take the game 31-13.
Others to watch for:
Washington Huskies 0-0 (0-0 PAC-12)
GeorgesGoons @
LSU Tigers 0-0 (0-0 SEC)
ajalves
---AJ's record with 4 previous SEC teams: 18-25. Can he stave off visiting Washington and get off to the right start?
Penn State Nittany Lions 0-0 (0-0 Big Ten)
autiger730 @ #5
Boise State Broncos 0-0 (0-0 MWC)
mtwasik
---This will be the Broncos biggest non-conference test, and they'll need a win here if they want any part in the national title discussion.
#4
Connecticut Huskies 0-0 (0-0 Big East)
DRiccio21 @ #3
Virginia Tech Hokies 0-0 (0-0 ACC)
VTrunNgun
---You schedule big games more than once, you find yourself in the spotlight more than once.
