Niddler back at Pitt!

After a disappointing season 24, with a 4-8 record, it appeared Coach Niddler was going to be fired, but after much deliberation, Athletic Director Steve Pederson decided to invite Coach Niddler back for one more season.

Steve had this to say, "We realize that one season is not enough to be able to come in and make a difference. It takes some time to lay down ground rules and to get all of your players and personnel to believe in your new system. We wanted to give Coach Niddler more time to hopefully turn Pitt around and get back to the successful seasons that we enjoyed under coach Doc. When Doc first got here in season 7, he went 3-9 and then 4-8 in Season 8. He then went 6-6 in season 17, but by Season 23, he went 10-3. We belive in Coach Niddler!"



Pitt is on schedule to leave the Big East and join the ACC in 2013, so does Pitt really believe in Coach Niddler or is this Pederson's way of not having to worry about finding a replacement until they make the move to the ACC and then look for a fresh start?
