The UnTouchable Report

A rundown of the week's hottest games.

It's weird... people say they're not like apes. Now how do you explain football then? - Mitch Hedberg

WEEK 5

#23 Arkansas Razorbacks 2-0 (0-0 SEC) razorback44 @ #2 Alabama Crimson Tide 3-0 (0-0 SEC) BFiVL

With the #1 and #2 ranked teams in the league in the same division, Arkansas is doing their best to stay relevant. Starting off the season 2-0 isn't bad, but they haven't really been tested yet either. Some could say, neither has Alabama. Keys to the game: Both teams are averaging over 30 points per game and are almost identical in overall offense. The Hogs, however, have shown an explosive defense that has accounted for 4.5 sacks per game. They'll need to continue this trend if they want any chance of stopping this powerful Tide offense. THE UnTouchable Prediction: With a combined opponent record of 0-14, it would seem tough to pick this one on paper. But I'm going to have to go with the Tide, 38-28. Please don't ask me why, because I don't know.

#25 UCLA Bruins 2-0 (0-0 PAC-12) UclaMac @ Oregon State Beavers 2-0 (0-0 PAC-12) runthepound

I picked this game because you've got an unpredictable newcomer vs the proven veteran. UclaMac has also done something most people in the NDL have to wait years for: grabbing his team in just his second season in the league. With these two teams showing a lot of offense this season, this game could turn into a barn-burner. Keys to the game: Oregon State will have to limit the turnovers in this game in order to keep the tempo. UCLA will want to utilize backup RB Derrick Coleman more often who, despite limited carries, is averaging almost 4 more yards per carry than starter Jonathan Franklin. THE UnTouchable Prediction: UclaMac is a great coach, but I think experience will triumph here. Oregon State wins 23-16

Others to watch for:

UAB Blazers 2-0 (0-0 C-USA) Black Rain @ ECU Pirates 3-1 (0-0 C-USA) autiger730

---Both teams have gotten off to a great start and begin conference play with this game.

#6 Boise State Broncos 2-0 (0-0 MWC) nole4real @ #8 Ohio State Buckeyes 1-1 (0-0 BIG TEN) the_niddler

---Can Niddler bounce back from his 17-14 upset loss at Arizona?

#15 Florida Gators 3-1 (1-0 SEC) cdub21 @ Kentucky Wildcats 3-0 (0-0 SEC) RB4SC22

---With good starts from both teams, the winner of this one will be the most likely contender to South Carolina to claim the top spot in the SEC East.

WEEK 6

#20 Connecticut Huskies 3-0 (0-0 BIG EAST) driccio21 @ #21 West Virginia Mountaineers 1-1 (0-0 BIG EAST) Talented3

The Big East has slowly become one of the premier conferences in the NDL (despite having Syracuse). Riccio and the Huskies are on a roll to start the season, taking out worthy opponents in NC State, Baylor, and Illinois. Talented faltered early, but it was against a tough Virginia Tech team ranked 11th in the NDL. This game may very well dictate who wins the Big East this season. Keys to the game: The Mountaineers are averaging 120 yards per game on the ground but it's apparent that this team is sorely missing Noel Devine. WVU has yet to score a rushing TD this season. This is something that will need to change against a UConn defense that's only allowing 69 rush yards per game. THE UnTouchable Prediction: West Virginia pound UConn last season 35-10. An impressive start, but Riccio's win streak ends here. WVU wins 28-24

Arizona Wildcats 2-1 (0-1 PAC-12) dealer4014 @ #3 USC Trojans 0-0 (0-0 Big 12) Daw1git

Arizona suddenly became relevant when they shocked the NDL and upset #8 Ohio State 17-14. Despite losing to #18 Stanford, the Wildcats can get back on track to claim a PAC-12 South title if they can get by the mighty Trojans. Keys to the game: The Trojans more than double the Wildcats in points per game and total offense. If Arizona wants any chance of winning, they're going to have to do what they did to overcome Ohio State: force turnovers. THE UnTouchable Prediction: USC is just too fast and too dominant for Arizona. Trojans win 31-11.

Others to watch for:

#16 Penn State Nittany Lions 3-0 (0-0 BIG TEN) BigRy @ Indiana Hoosiers 1-0 (0-0 BIG TEN) LetsGoPeay

---Indiana upset Penn State last season at Beaver Stadium by a field goal. Can the Nittany Lions get their revenge in Hoosierland with a new coach?

#25 UCLA Bruins 2-0 (0-0 PAC-12) UclaMac @ #18 Stanford Cardinal 2-0 (1-0 PAC-12) plasma1896

---Since UCLA doesn't play Oregon this year, this will be their biggest test before closing out the season against USC.

#2 Alabama Crimson Tide 3-0 (0-0 SEC) BFiVL @ #15 Florida Gators 3-1 (1-0 SEC) cdub21

---This game could potentially be an early preview of the SEC title game.
