B1G - Quest for the Cup - Rnd 2

The first round of the Cup has to be considered a B1G success! A few teams pulled out some impressive wins, but 1 team produced epic fail for the conference. I'm not going to Badger that coach, because he'll probably blame it on the Wisky... but I think you get the point here. With that said, let's move on to Rnd. 2 Predictions and fun!

Michigan St. vs. Texas A&M

- After predicting doom and gloom for Sparty in round 1, they run into another tough test (or so I'd like to think). This game is already in the books, but not posted on the site yet. But I'm not going to cheat and tell you the results here, you can wait until they get posted. Instead, I'll give you what my prediction would have been going into this game, based on Weasel's history of annihilating me when I have better teams.

Prediction: Michigan St. by 7

Northwestern vs. TCU

- After pulling off a 1st Rnd upset of Texas, the Wildcats now have their sights set on another Texas powerhouse that managed to take out a B1G school in the 1st Rnd. Is this redemption for the B1G? I can't predict that, TCU has been playing lights out lately.

Prediction: TCU by 9

Indiana @ Georgia

- Peay's Hoosiers cruised to a 1st Rnd win over lowly Ark State... but the Bulldogs should offer a step up in competition. I think the Hoosiers have 1 good win in them for the Cup and they are going to use it up right here!

Prediction: Indiana by 3

Michigan vs. Colorado

- Sammy, the master of the game recaps, shouldn't have too much of an issue handling the Buffaloes offensive attack and with D-Rob manning the captains chair, the Wolverine offense could put a big number on the board.

Prediction: Michigan by 12

Penn St. @ Navy

- The Rutgers game was like a checkpoint, just to make sure the Lions were on pace. There's no reason to believe that the beastly front 7 of Penn State won't absolutely dominate the Midshipmen. This is a David and Goliath scenario, but Goliath is going to have David for lunch.

Prediction: PSU by 13

Iowa @ Cincinnati

- Iowa had a huge win for the conference... and caused a huge loss. The winner of the in-conference battle with Minnesota last week now looks to prove that they were the team that the conference needed to succeed, as they face a very good Bearcat attack. Early on, it didn't appear as if johnny was ready for life in the B1G. But I think he can finally put it call together before this pivotal matchup.

Prediction: Iowa by 1

Nebraska @ Temple

- After taking out a talented Houston squad in the 1st round, the Huskers seemingly have an easier matchup in the 2nd round. I fully expect them to prove me right.

Prediction: Nebraska by 10

Ohio St. @ Western Michigan

- Like the Huskers, OSU potentially had the easier matchup in the 1st round with Kansas. And also like Nebraska, there's absolutely no reason to think that the Buckeyes aren't going to storm through Western Michigan.

Prediction: OSU by 16

Purdue vs. Ole Miss

- The Boilermakers are lining up against the Rebels and will give the B1G their first real look at what Purdue has to offer this season. Ole Miss isn't on the same level that they were last season, but they are quality competition that matches up well. Purdue is going to be in for a real fight in this one.

Prediction: Purdue by 3

Well, not a lot for you guys to live up to, as your commissioner predicts that you're going to go 8-1... well... yeah... you have pretty much no margin for error. It's time for the B1G to prove why this is the best conference in the NDL!
