When this game was scheduled, I don't remember anyone saying I can't wait for that game to be played so I can see the outcome. I highly doubt it if anyone thought they had a ligitimate shot to even get to their Conference Championship game, much less win it. Now here we are in Week 12, and they would have been right. Combined they are 0-11 on the season and have been outscored 91-293 by their opponents. The reason these numbers are so impressive is because, in reality, these are the teams that hold the league together and keep it operating. These Coaches have remained active and still playing their games, although things aren't exactly going their way. One of these teams will get a win this week, and the other will continue to grind it out until the season comes to an end.
THINGS TO WATCH FOR:
Eastern Michigan:
Dwayne Priest is averaging nearly 4 yards per carry on the ground, gaining 518 for the season. Julius Shelby completes over 50 percent of his passes, but needs to be more careful with the ball. He as thrown for over 1000 yds and 3 TDS, but the 7 INTS really hurt. The bottom line for Eastern Michigan is finding a way to get it into the endzone. Having only scored 4 offensive TDS is really hurting their chances to win games.
Buffalo:
The Bulls played a close game with UCONN early in the season, but have hit some bumps since then. In that game Alex Dennison completed 7 of 8 passes for 98 yards and a TD. Brandon Thermilus ran the ball fairly well also, gaining 63 yards on 15 carries. Buffalo needs to try and duplicate what they did on defense that day and they will have some chances to win ball games.
PREDICTION:
Eastern Michigan needs to play a little safer than they have been playing so far and not put their defense in bad situations. Buffalo will need to mix it up and keep the Eagles defense guessing, so they can score some points. Should be a toss up, but I think Buffalo can force Julius Shelby into to some bad situations and force turnovers, giving the Bulls some short fields. 21-26 Buffalo
