NDL Block party 3: Part 1

Article By: NCAA Dynasty League

Champ's Corner has now been transformed into the NDL Block Party. Instead of breaking up weeks, I will put it into one block with some new twists. So enjoy!

As we embark into Block 3 of NDL Season 21 one thing is for sure, this has been a very competitive season with so much parity early on. We have had many great games and this block is no exception. What is the top game of the block???? Well, there isn't just one that jumps out at you, there are several with 4 right on top of that list......

Ok, #3 Alabama is not playing #5 Miami however these two teams highlight block 3. This can truly make or break their seasons once this block comes to an end. We start in the SEC with the Alabama Crimson Tide. Coach BFiVL has been so close in his 104th season in Tuscaloosa. Alabama's only good win thus far was a 24-21 against Arkansas. The Tide do not overwelm anyone, they just know how to play defense and run the ball with Mark Ingram(282 yds) and Trent Richardson(266 yds). His plan is simple, run it and play tough defense. This block, Alabama goes up against not one but two 4-0 ranked opponents from the SEC. First up is #12 Florida and Coach mcx. The Gators big win was on the road at #19 Cincinnati where they came away with a 31-23 win. Florida counters with a three headed monster on offense with QB John Brantley, RB Jeff Demps and WR Carl Moore. Bryant-Denny Stadium will be packed for this early SEC Showdown. How does Bama start Block 3?

The winner:

It won't be as bad as this game indicated but Roll Tide in this one to set up their next game in Columbia, SC.

If Alabama can get by Florida still unbeaten, they must face the up and coming #18 South Carolina Gamecocks. South Carolina's big wins came against a tough Oregon St team in Week 1 and on the road a 31-27 classic game against Bama's archrival in Auburn. Can the Gamecocks be the Alabama state champions? Oddly enough, the Gamecocks had a request to play UAB in Week 5 but that fell through. Alabama will have to try and contain QB Stephen Garcia and RB Marcus Lattimore. Carolina's defense has been average at best but can cause turnovers at key times in the game.

If that doesn't get you jacked for this one, nothing will. No matter the victor should be a great game with Bama seeking a little revenge.

Alabama isn't the only Top 5 team with two games against ranked opponents as the Miami Hurricanes at #5 have to travel to Clemson to face the #9 Tigers and than go back to South Beach to battle #10 Florida State. Miami does have a slight advantage over Alabama as both Clemson and Florida St have been defeated this season already however, Coach deedub and Coach Penguin are two of the top skilled coaches in the NDL. Miami is led by Coach JohnnyP who got tired of being overlooked being at non-BCS BYU the last couple of seasons. He is determined to overshadow his big brother and make his mark in the NDL. That can happen this block. Clemson is off to a 2-1 start with wins over #13 Arkansas and San Diego St. They took a hit against against #8 West Virginia, who won in OT with two touchdowns, the last one was really not needed. Their defense has struggled but their DL is one of the best in the league. Offensively, QB Kyle X Parker is very efficient only throwing 2 ints against 10 TD's. He also has over 100 yards rushing. If Miami can contain Parker, they have a good shot in Death Valley. The Canes counter with QB Jacory Harris. He has over 1000 yards passing and 161 rushing yards. He has 10 TD's to 6 int's. He leads a offense averaging 40 pts a game and almost 500 yards total offense. Clemson's defense will have to play one of their best games to pull this one out.

Playing in Clemson, South Carolina can be electric to say the least......

The winner:

The Canes get #10 Florida St next. The Seminoles are led by RB Jermaine Thomas, who has 267 yards on the season. Florida St beat Michigan, San Jose St and Wake Forest but fell to TCU. This game's outcome may depend on if Miami is still undefeated. This should be a classic as previous classics in the rivalry that usually comes down to kicks......and yet again.....

The winner:
