This early Conference USA matchup will determine who is a contender and who is a pretender.
#18. UNLV(mtwasik) at Utah(bearass)
Coach mtwasik can pull an upset here but he won't have the talent of TCU to help him.
#17. Illinois(brownbear) at #24 Boise St(seeit)
Illinois is better than you think but can they hang with Boise St? Coach seeit hopes to bring the program back up after Ank left the program for dead.
#16. Iowa St(ICE) at Iowa(oldschoola)
The Cy-Hawk Trophy will be at stake and also what team that can make some noise this season.
#15. Kansas(hugme) at #21 Arizona(Packsy)
Can Kansas stop the air assault of the Cats? With Walker out in USC, Coach Packsy feels this is his season.
#14. #3 Alabama(Biffy) at Fresno St(Hoos)
Alabama usually drops a game they shouldn't, so can Hoos provide that loss in Sillicon Valley?
#13. North Carolina St(Holmey) at Purdue(Dealer)
This will be a good chance for Russell Wilson to show what he can do against a solid defense.
#12. Georgia Tech(vicktim) at Rutgers(ha ha)
Should be an interesting contest between two veteran coaches.
#11. UTEP(bsktblljk) at #22 Houston(RanDawg)
Houston looking for a little paybeack against the Miners.

Can Coach jeffdaddy bring his berokoff ball to L.A.? The ladies are already flocking to Coach Rappaport and his quirky offense.
Coach Plasma looks to shut down the JD express and with Luck on his side, no doubt he can pull it off.

The Hoosiers are no longer the pushovers that they used to be and last season passed the Connecticut Huskies. Coach driccio looks to turn things around as he has asked Maya Moore to suit up.

Last season, they went two overtimes to decide this one in Athens. This season its in Columbia but should be much of the same.

Both are coming off losses so the loser will start 0-2. Both can still win their conference so a win here can give them a much needed boost.

Both teams have aspirations of something more than just conference titles. They want to play for the big trophy and both have the talent to get there. One team will take a hit in that quest. Clemson needs this more than Arkansas since the Razorbacks can lose but beat LSU, Auburn and Alabama and make its way back for a shot at the title. Can the Tigers secondary contain Ryan Mallett and the Arkanasas offense?
